After a series of spy shots, the MG Starlight has been unveiled at the 2016 Indonesia Motor Show as the Wuling Eksion. The same model is also called the Wuling Starlight 560 in other international markets. With a length of 4.7 metres, it is dimensionally similar to the MG Hector Plus.

We have previously detailed exterior bits - full LED setup, 18-inch tyres, machined alloys, rain-sensing wiper , powered tailgate, and a unique DRL and tail-light design. Inside, there are powered and ventilated front seats, three rows, 8.8-inch instrument cluster, 12.8-inch infotainment, 50W wireless charger, six speakers, anti-pinch power windows, and 360° cameras.

There are two powertrain options: EV and PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid), of which the former is powered by 201bhp/310Nm motor paired with a 69.2kWh battery, delivering 530km claimed range. The latter churns out 103.6bhp/130Nm via a 1.5-litre NA engine, and 194bhp/230Nm via the 20.5kWh battery. EV-only range stands at 125km, with a claimed combined figure reaching more than 1,000km. Both EV and PHEV are front-wheel drive.
