- Expected to be part of the carmaker's 12-model lineup for India in 2026
- All versions to be offered with hybrid power
The first images of a facelift for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class have been revealed ahead of its debut on 29 January. This will be a mid-life update for this generation of the S-Class, and it is expected to be part of the 12-car lineup that Mercedes-Benz announced for India in 2026.
The carmaker has hinted at a new MBUX, improved ride quality, and new design elements as part of the deal. The last one includes new star-shaped laser headlamps that have become a signature of Mercedes' sedan range.
Depending on the market, the carmaker is expected to offer six-cylinder petrol and diesel, as well as a V8 lineup. All versions get 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. Depending on the market, the car will be offered in RWD or 4Matic AWD configurations. Even in this era of the SUV onslaught, the S-Class has managed to make quite a name for itself in terms of luxury motoring and aspirational ownership. It will reinvigorate Mercedes' challenge against cars like the BMW 7 Series, Audi A8L, and future models from Maserati and Genesis. When brought to India, it will be locally assembled at the automaker's Chakan plant, where they have been assembling the S-Class for close to 15 years now.
