Hyundai has been spotted testing a facelifted version of the Verna sedan, indicating that a mid-cycle update for the popular midsize sedan is in the pipeline. The test mule was seen overseas with camouflage at both the front and rear, hinting at noticeable design revisions.
Up front, the Verna facelift appears to feature a revised fascia with a redesigned grille and sharper bumper contours. The split headlamp layout is expected to be retained, but the lighting elements themselves could receive a refreshed signature. The bonnet line also seems slightly reworked, giving the sedan a cleaner and more cohesive front-end appearance compared to the current model.
Changes extend to the rear as well. The test car suggests updated tail-lamp internals and a revised bumper design, which should help freshen up the Verna’s overall look while retaining its familiar silhouette. New alloy wheel designs are also expected to be part of the update, further differentiating the facelift from the existing version.
Inside the cabin, Hyundai is likely to focus on feature enhancements rather than a full redesign. The current dual-screen dashboard layout is expected to carry over, but the facelift could bring additional comfort and convenience features, along with updated trim finishes and revised variant-wise equipment.
Powertrain options are expected to remain unchanged. The Verna facelift is likely to continue with the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines, paired with manual and automatic gearbox options. No mechanical updates are anticipated at this stage.
The Hyundai Verna competes in the midsize sedan segment alongside the Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Volkswagen Virtus. With rivals continuing to receive updates, this facelift is expected to help Hyundai keep the Verna competitive and relevant in the segment.
