• Boxy silhouette with roof rails and dual-tone alloys
• Likely to share its mechanicals with the international-spec Hyundai Inster
Hyundai seems to be readying a boxy eSUV, likely to be positioned above the Venue in its lineup. From its proportions, it looks like a sub-four, which could likely accompany the upcoming Kia Syros EV.
The boxy eSUV was spied at a charging station, next to a wrapped Carens Clavis EV, the latter of which is the GT Line/X-Line variant. Additionally, dual-tone aero-optimised alloys give away the fact that the wrapped boxy SUV is indeed an electric.
Powertrain Expectations
With this new eSUV, Hyundai seems to be setting a precedent – seeking a departure from the international-spec Inster EV's design language, as well as localising the EV for better accessibility.
Mechanically, the upcoming boxy EV will likely likely share its underpinnings with the Inster EV, and this means 42kWh, 95bhp/147Nm and 49kWh, 113bhp/147Nm battery + motor combinations. The motor could likely have a forward bias, and an NMC battery pack. The same is in line with what Hyundai India proposed in its 2025 Investor Day presentation.
