Hyundai rolls out all-new Venue as production officially begins

Hyundai India, as we know, has started taking bookings for the Venue. Now, the brand has officially rolled out this much awaited compact SUV from its manufacturing facility ahead of the official launch on May 21.

Commenting on the first production roll-out, Mr. S S Kim, MD & CEO of Hyundai India, said, “This is a proud moment for us at Hyundai. On this day 23 years ago, Hyundai entered India with a promise to make cars that will set new benchmarks in the industry. And today we are set to create history again with the Global First – roll out of the Venue, which will usher the future of connected mobility in India”.

As revealed earlier, the Venue will be available in 13 variants that are spread across four trim levels – E, S, SX and SX (O). In terms of drivetrain, there will be 1.2-litre and 1.0-litre petrol engines and a 1.4-litre diesel motor. However, there’s no diesel automatic on offer and only the 1-litre turbocharged petrol will get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that too in the S and SX+ trims. The 82bhp/115Nm 1.2-litre petrol motor is combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol mill generates 118bhp and 172Nm and is offered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed auto. Lastly, the 1.4-litre diesel engine puts out 89bhp and 220Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The all-new Venue is expected to cost between Rs 8-12 lakhs (ex-showroom). At this price point, it will compete with cars including the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport.
