Hyundai is changing the conventional methods of a car owner's manual by developing a smartphone-based one. This will include an app that will make things easier for the owner by quickly finding out the necessary information about their car.
The company's latest innovation is this app that will be released for both android as well as iOS platforms. The first Hyundai car to benefit from this will be the 2016 Hyundai Sonata and other cars will also get this app based info at a later stage.
The basic feature of the app will be to work as a virtual manual. It will have instructions on Bluetooth pairing, audio system controls, cruise control, warning indicators etc. It will also include video tutorials explaining different features of the car and how to do the basic maintenance procedures. This will cover replacement of engine oil, brake fluids and air filter inspection.
However, the most interesting part is that this app will use two- and three-dimensional tracking technology to identify the various parts of the car. This will enable the owner to just point his smartphone at a particular part for the app to show the information. Users can select any part in the front, at the back, in the interior or the engine bay to get the required data. Some labels will pop up, clicking on which detailed info will be given. With this technology coming on soon, the traditional owner's manual might just become a thing of the past and make things easy and convenient for owners.
