- Claimed mileage of 17.97kmpl
- 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with 119bhp/145Nm
The Honda City petrol CVT recently made its way to the CarWale garage, and among the many things planned for it was, in typical CarWale fashion, a full-blown real-world mileage test. We’ve tested the car, and the numbers are finally out.
This iteration of the Honda City is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine which generates an output of 119bhp and 145Nm. Our test car was equipped with a CVT unit, while the model is also available with a six-speed manual gearbox. The former and latter have a claimed mileage of 17.97kmpl and 17.77kmpl, respectively.
In the city run, the Honda City petrol returned an efficiency of 10.49kmpl, while the MID-indicated figure stood at 12kmpl. Similarly, the highway figures in the City’s mileage run saw the car return 19.21kmpl, which was marginally lower than the MID-indicated number of 21.3kmpl. Thus, the overall mileage of the new Honda City stood at 12.66kmpl.
