- Three Vida concepts showcased
- Aims to address urban mobility problems
Shortly after Ola Electric filed a patent for a compact 4680 cell-based electric car, Hero Motocorp showcased three Vida concepts, one of which was a car. The two-seater E4W looks like it is aimed at solving urban mobility problems, given its compact size and limited seating.

The Vida Nex 3, although a concept, looks futuristic. It also highlights a modular centre console, where the IC can be had in rectangular and circular shapes.

Urban Congestion: The Need for Small Cars
One widespread issue with urban mobility is the fact that a tier-1 metropolis is prone to congestion, given the amount of vehicles, coupled with limited infrastructure that fails to keep pace with the ever-growing number of cars. Getting a two-wheeler is not very practical in every situation and demographic, case in point, Mumbai’s sweltering summers. However, a large part of the market is driven by C-SUVs. For short commutes, a compact car could possibly be the way forward.

2W Manufacturers in the 4W Business
It was Ola first, with Hero Motocorp following suit later. Should these concepts materialise into production-spec cars, it will cause a paradigm shift in the market, creating a segment for mass micro-mobility. This could also prompt other 2W brands to explore this space.
