Ford Aspire electric with Mahindra technology to be cheapest electric car globally

Back in September 2017, Ford and Mahindra had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), initially for a period of three years, over technology sharing and future development. This time around media reports have emerged claiming that the 2019 Ford Aspire electric will be the first product post collaboration between the two companies.  The electric version of the Aspire might turn out to be the most affordable electric car across the globe.

Interestingly, reports also indicate that Ford and Mahindra have been working on a new platform for an SUV body type. Although the plans are in its initial phase for now, reports indicate that the design will be unique for both the companies in line with their brand philosophies - meaning one will be for Mahindra while the other for Ford. Technical details are not available for now, however reports indicate that the electric motor might be borrowed from the e-Verito.

More details on the Ford Aspire electric will be known in the days to come. We however speculate that the new Aspire electric might get a powerful battery with a quick charging function.
