With the whole automotive industry moving towards electrifying their fleet in the time to come, supercar makers have also begun to brace the electrified future due to the tight emissions standards.
Which is why Ferrari's CEO Sergio Marchionne has stated that all Ferrari’s will be a hybrid from the year 2019 onwards, and their ultimate target would be to sell 10,000 Ferraris per annum by the year 2025.
Though Marchionne did not reveal any specifics, he confessed that the brand would employ an internal combustion engine along with an electric motor, just like the LaFerrari hypercar which is uses a 161bhp electric motor that’s coupled to a 789bhp V12. Ferrari registered a new modular chassis architecture earlier this year that’s designed for both front and mid-engined hybrid cars, and the brand expects to expand their line-up eventually to facilitate these hybrid models.
Ferrari also disclosed that the upcoming hybrids will focus on everyday use, and going by how the LaFerrari performs, we think the Ferrari hybrids of the future will definitely be worth waiting for.
