Ferrari has just revealed the 812 Superfast, a car that’s being launched to celebrate the company’s 70th anniversary, ahead of the slated debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
The 812 Superfast is an upgraded avatar of the F12 Berlinetta, and exterior updates include redesigned body panels, new LED head lamps, and four individual tail lamps. Interior revisions comprise of a reworked dash, more ergonomic seats, a new steering wheel and instrument cluster, a contemporary infotainment system, and new climate controls.
Lurking under the hood of the 812 Superfast is Ferrari’s 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 motor that’s capable of making 799bhp at 8500rpm and 718Nm of torque at 7000rpm. A considerable bump-up from the F12 Berlinetta’s 6.3-litre V12 motor which makes 740bhp and 690Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch ‘box.
Thanks to the motor and the 1525kg dry weight of the 812 Superfast, Ferrari claims a top speed of 340kmph. While the 0-100kmph sprint is dispatched in 2.9sec, it is quicker than the F12 Berlinetta by 0.2sec. The 812 Superfast also gains the recognition of being the first Ferrari to get an electric power steering system.
