- More than 53 per cent Hyundai customers in India opted for the feature
- SUVs contributed to 68.5 per cent of HMI’s total sales
Hyundai Motor India has revealed key statistics of its sales numbers, highlighting key preferences of customers in the local market. According to the company, every two out of three vehicles sold by the brand were SUVs. Further, 53.2 per cent of customers, essentially every second car sold by Hyundai India, chose a variant equipped with a sunroof. Notably, a sunroof is offered as an optional feature in 12 of the 14 models sold by the automaker in the country.

HMI’s growth in the SUV segment witnessed a rise of almost 5 per cent YoY, going up to 68.5 per cent in FY24-25 from 63.2 per cent during the previous financial year. According to the brand, the SUV range includes models like the Creta, Alcazar, Venue, Exter, Tucson, and the Ioniq 5.
Next up, 14.3 per cent of total variant sales across all models, stood for the ADAS-equipped versions. This is more than a 100 per cent jump compared to the pie of 6.7 per cent for the said feature during the previous year (FY 23-24). For the uninitiated, an ADAS suite is available in nine Hyundai cars sold in India at the moment.

Hyundai is known to offer the best-in-segment and segment-first features across its product portfolio. A part of the brand’s success can also be attributed to its wide range of offerings, be it the variants, powertrains, or even the transmission options. The current range of engines include NA petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric. Simultaneously, customers can choose from an array of gearboxes such as a five-speed manual, six-speed manual, iMT, AMT, six-speed torque converter automatic, and seven-speed DCT units.
