- Based on the top-spec variant
- To get black accents
Citroen is prepping to launch the Basalt Dark Edition in India, making it the first special edition for the model. The carmaker recently shared a teaser of the coupe-SUV, hinting at an impending launch.
Exterior
The carmaker hasn't divulged any details, with the teaser providing only a glimpse of the special edition. Like the current trend of having dark and black editions of existing cars, the standard Basalt will also get the same treatment. We expect it to have an all-black exterior with black ORVMs. The wheels won't be completely black, but the car will ride on dual-tone alloy wheels to break the monotony.

Interior
The upcoming Basalt Dark Edition’s cabin will sport a similar dark theme. This dark edition will be equipped with black trim all around and will also get black upholstery with contrasting stitching. The equipment list is expected to include a 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rear-view camera, six airbags, and TPMS.
Powertrain
Dealer sources suggest that the Citroen Basalt Dark Edition will be based on the top-spec Max Turbo variant. This is powered by a 1.2-litre, turbo-petrol engine that is mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. It produces 108bhp and 195Nm torque in the manual, and 205Nm in the automatic version.
Launch Timeline
Citroen hasn't confirmed the launch date for the Basalt Dark Edition. However, given the impending festive season which is considered auspicious for car buying, the carmaker might reveal the prices soon. Bookings might start by the end of this month, with deliveries starting in the coming month.
