Citroen recently launched the Dark Editions in its Indian line-up. This encompasses vehicles like the C3, Basalt, and the Aircross, which are priced at Rs. 8.38 lakh, Rs. 12.80 lakh, and Rs. 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The carmaker has mentioned that these will be built in limited numbers. Take a look at how the Basalt Dark Edition looks in the real world.

The new Basalt Dark Edition features a Perla Nera Black exterior, dark chrome grille, black body mouldings, and dark chrome badges.

Instead of the front fenders, the carmaker has applied the Dark Edition badge on the front door under the ORVMs for exclusivity.

The Basalt Dark Edition's interior gets a Carbon Black colour scheme. However, the pillars, upper section, and the roof liner are still in a lighter grey shade.

But, the biggest change is made to the seats, which now get a Metropolitan Black leatherette upholstery. These get Lava Red details to add to the contrast and appeal.

Powertrain
This is a purely cosmetic package, and no mechanical changes have been made to the Basalt, or even the C3 and the Aircross for that matter. The Basalt continues to be offered with two petrol engine options, including a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol mill. The naturally aspirated unit produces 80bhp and 115Nm torque, while the turbo-petrol powerplant churns 109bhp and 190-205Nm torque. Transmission options include six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes.
