As the dates of the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo inch closer, more and more automakers are slowly revealing new cars to be showcased at the international event, the latest being Chevrolet . It seems that the Detroit-based car maker is planning to showcase a sub-four metre concept SUV at the Auto Expo. Based on GM’s Gamma II platform, also shared with Chevrolet Trax, Beat and the Sonic, the car when materialised will go up against the other compact SUVs/crossovers like the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and upcoming compact SUVs from Hyundai and Mahindra.
A smaller version of the Chevrolet Trax, the SUV, will be powered by the 1.3-litre MutiJet turbo diesel engine, which is found in many small carsin India. Jointly developed by Fiat and GM, the engine develops 77bhp and 188Nm of torque.
Chevrolet is set to make the most out of the Auto Expo this year and has long list of cars that will be displayed at its stall. Some of them would be the facelifted Beat and international models-Corvette and Camaro. Also expected is the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, the enormous premium SUV.
