We have spotted wrapped test mules of the Chery iCAUR V23 several times in India, as well as given you an exclusive glimpse of what’s to come from the 2026 Indonesia Motor Show. This boxy four-seat electric SUV is going to make its way here under the JSW Motors top hat. This SUV, alongside a barrage of other offerings from Chery Automobile, has been patented in India.
To begin with, the iCAUR V23 has a massive, boxy stance, complemented by an all-LED light setup, and the design could very well be a USP of the SUV. It spans 4.2 metres long, placing itself in the mid-size territory. Spotted in the same timeframe as the Jetour T2, Jaecoo J5 EV, and the Jaecoo J7 SHS, it gets internal grab handles, 15.4-inch QHD centre screen, column-mounted drive selector, faux leather-wrapped steering wheel and upholstery, powered front row, sun visor with vanity mirrors and illumination, and cup holders. The SUV has also won the 2026 Red Dot Design Award.
There are two mechanical combinations – a conservative version, as well as a high-performance version – of which the former gets 134bhp/180Nm 2WD setup paired with a 59.93kWh LFP battery, and the latter is powered by a 208bhp/292Nm dual-motor AWD setup paired with an 81.76kWh NMC battery. Claimed range goes up to 430km, which is lower on paper. However, it is too soon to conclude anything just yet. It should ideally come to India in tandem with the Jetour T2, which may be around Diwali.
