- 1.6L pure petrol and 1.5L PHEV
- EV-only range of 105km
We wish our readers a very happy Diwali! As the festive season progresses, so do the developments in the automotive industry. This time around, Chinese carmaker, Chery Automobile, has patented a sedan – the Arrizo 8. This comes a while after the carmaker patented the Tiggo 8 SUV in India.

Based on international-spec models, we know the specifications this particular sedan packs in. The Arrizo 8 is sold as a pure petrol/PHEV in international markets. The silhouette looks familiar, and unmistakably so. It spans 4.7m long, 1.8m wide, 1.4m high, and a 2.7m wheelbase. Internally, it packs in a powered driver seat, dual-tone upholstery, 24.6-inch screen, 540-degree pano view, 50W wireless charger, eight-speaker system, and a panoramic sunroof.

The sedan is underpinned by 1.6L/7DCT TGDi petrol motor, rated to churn out 200bhp/290Nm. The hybrid gets a 1.5L petrol motor, and a battery which enables an EV-only range of 105km. It also churns out 351bhp/515Nm. The latter also sprints from 0-100kmph in 7.8 seconds.
