- No successor confirmed for the two-door roadster
- Continues on sale in India in two variants
BMW has unveiled the Z4 Final Edition, marking the end of production for its two-seat convertible. The last units will be built till March 2026, with global bookings expected to open by late January.

The Final Edition brings a slightly dramatic look, thanks to its exclusive Frozen Matte Black paint, BMW’s extended Shadowline treatment, gloss black detailing around the grille, air intakes, and exhaust tips, along with red M Sport brake callipers. These touches give the Z4 a darker, more performance-focused visual identity.
Inside, the car follows a black and red theme. It gets Vernasca leather and Alcantara seats, red contrast stitching on the dashboard, door pads, and the centre console, and an Alcantara-wrapped M steering wheel with red stitching. Further, Final Edition door sill plates complete the cabin updates.

There are no mechanical changes. The Final Edition continues with the same global engine options that include a 2.0L turbo petrol with around 197bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol churning out 258bhp, and a 3.0L six-cylinder turbo petrol that makes 335bhp. All versions use an automatic gearbox, while certain markets still offer a six-speed manual in the M40i guise.
With no successor confirmed, the Final Edition becomes a true farewell to BMW’s roadster lineage. Limited availability and its unique styling package are likely to make it a future collector’s model as BMW transitions away from traditional two-seat convertibles.

The Z4 remains on sale in India in two versions – the M40i and the Pure Impulse Edition. The M40i is priced at Rs. 87.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Pure Impulse Edition with a six-speed manual gearbox is available at Rs. 92.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
