- Entire 7 Series range to be launched simultaneously
- Pre-launch bookings open since 1 August
BMW India has confirmed that the facelifted 7 Series range covering both the ICE variants and the electric i7 will be officially launched on 11 September. Pre-launch bookings are underway for both the models.

The facelifted 7 Series arrives with a comprehensive set of updates on both ends. The exterior gets the most visible change in the form of an illuminated kidney grille. The headlamps have been completely redesigned with a split arrangement, slim upper units housing the DRLs and smaller lower clusters near the air curtains. At the rear, slimmer tail lamps with chrome detailing and smoked glass complete the visual refresh, with the boot release, rear camera, and washer nozzle all neatly concealed.
Inside, the headline addition is a 17.9-inch central touchscreen running new BMW Operating System, supported by a 14.6-inch front passenger display. The conventional instrument cluster has been replaced by a full-width projection at the base of the windscreen. The updated cabin also gains a new four-spoke steering wheel, a revised full-width ambient light strip, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system with up to 18 speakers and Dolby Atmos, and an upgraded rear screen now a 31.3-inch 8K touchscreen capable of streaming, video calls, and gaming.

On the powertrain front, the 740i xDrive petrol now produces 400bhp and 580Nm while the 740d xDrive diesel climbs to 313bhp and 670Nm. Both retain their 3.0-litre inline-six mild-hybrid setup with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The electric i7 range also receives updates. Both variants now get a larger 112.4kWh battery, and the entry-level i7 50 upgrades from rear-wheel drive to xDrive all-wheel drive as standard.
The current 7 Series is priced from Rs 1.85 crore for the petrol and diesel, while the i7 ranges from Rs. 2.10 crore to Rs. 2.58 crore, all ex-showroom.
