Aura on Top
The Hyundai Aura compact saloon has led the charge for the South Korean automaker in terms of CNG models. In its quarterly earnings call, Hyundai revealed that the Aura CNG variants were contributing as much as 89 per cent of the automaker's total CNG volumes, but did not reveal the exact split between petrol and CNG variants.
No doubt that a large chunk of this has come on the back of the Aura CNG being popular with the fleet market, a prospect made even better now, thanks to the introduction of the HY-CNG dual-cylinder model in September last year.

More CNG Power
The automaker said that CNG contributed to 46 per cent of its total volumes in the first quarter of this financial year as compared to 33 per cent in the same period last year. In fact, compared to the last quarter of FY25, the contribution of CNG cars to the overall volumes grew by 3 per cent.
Overall Numbers
While the Aura may be the leading CNG model, it sits in the minority party, with saloons only contributing to 13 per cent of Hyundai's overall volumes. Leading the charge for the automaker is its SUV range, contributing 69 per cent of its total volumes in this first quarter.
