Those looking forward to the Audi Q2’s arrival in India would be glad to know that the model has just been rewarded a five star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The compact crossover did well in all the safety parameters including adult and child safety, for pedestrian protection and for other safety parameters.
Emergency braking systems were introduced to the evaluation procedure in 2016. In this case, the Q2 is equipped as standard with the emergency braking assistant as part of Audi’s pre sense front. The system examines whether other vehicles or pedestrians are in the path of the vehicle. If a collision is imminent, it warns the driver and if necessary initiates automatic emergency braking.
With prices starting at around 22,900 Euros (Rs 17.20 lakh), the Q2 is being targeted at buyers with larger Mercedes and BMW models who are looking to downsize their vehicles. Audi India, in fact, is looking to cater to the rising number of young luxury car buyers with the Q2. The latter will be positioned as the most affordable Q model from Audi with prices starting at around Rs 25 lakh mark.
