- Claimed range of 770km
- Based on an entirely new platform
The first model under the Volkswagen Group’s NEV (New Energy Vehicle) brand, AUDI, has been fully unveiled. This is the E5 Sportback, which made its global debut at the Volkswagen Group Media Night ahead of Auto Shanghai 2025.
The four-door E5 Sportback is a fully electric fastback with a power output of up to 777.4bhp and a maximum range of 770km. Four powertrains offer rear-wheel or quattro drive, with the most powerful version accelerating from zero to 100kmph in 3.4 seconds. Built on the new jointly developed Advanced Digitized Platform, the E5 will be launched later this year in China.

The new brand AUDI, spelled in capital letters without the four rings, marks the beginning of a new era for Audi in China. The E5 will be available in four fully electric variants, featuring either rear-wheel or quattro all-wheel drive at power outputs of 220, 300, 425, or 579 kilowatts. The car will also feature all-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension.
A battery capacity of up to 100kWh will come with a claimed driving range of 770km. Thanks to ultra-fast 800-volt charging, the car can replenish 370km range in 10 minutes. Following the E5, two more all-electric AUDI models will be launched in 2026 and 2027.
