The first day of Force Gurkha Rain Forest Challenge (RFC) India 2017 has concluded and Chandigarh's Gurmeet Virdi and his co-driver Kirpal Singh Tung emerged at the top with 390 points out of 500 after the completion of the first five Special Stages. Veteran rallyist Jagat Nanjappa with his co-driver Chetan Changappa of V5 Off-roaders from Coorg came second with 355 points. Siddartha Santhosh and the co-driver Prithviraj AC from the Team BODA (Bangalore Offroaders Development Association) took the third spot with 298 points. Day one saw 38 teams from across the country participating in some of the toughest challenges in RFC history.
BMW is currently working on electrifying all its model series. Over the next few years, the brand will launch a full-electric or plug-in hybrid drivetrain in addition to the combustion engine option. Additional electrified models will be brought to market and beyond 2020; the company’s next-gen vehicle architecture will be structured in order to enable new models also to be offered as a full-electric vehicle.
Renault’s entry level car, the Kwid has been a major contributor in the company’s overall sales number. Renault India claims that they have crossed a new milestone for the Kwid with over 1,75,000 units sales till date.
For a while now Tata Motors has been working on developing electric vehicle technology. A recent update by UK-based Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) on social media reveals that the Tiago electric vehicle will be showcased at the 2017 Low Carbon Vehicle (LCV 2017) event. The two day event will be held on 6-7 September 2017.
