- Revives the XC70 nameplate with a rugged estate-SUV blend
- Offered with petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid options
Volvo has officially unveiled the all-new 2026 XC70, reviving the iconic crossover estate that seamlessly blends practicality with SUV-inspired ruggedness. The new XC70 now sits above the V60 Cross Country in Volvo’s global portfolio, and is aimed at buyers seeking estate versatility with off-road credentials.

In terms of design, the XC70 carries Volvo’s signature Scandinavian styling with a bold front fascia, Thor’s Hammer LED DRLs, wide grille, and squared-off bumpers. The estate silhouette is complemented by wheel arch claddings, raised ride height, skid plates, and roof rails, giving it a crossover stance. At the rear, vertically stacked tail lamps emphasise its estate roots, while modern details add freshness.

Inside, the XC70 features Volvo’s latest minimalist cabin with a portrait-oriented 14.5-inch infotainment screen powered by built-in Google services, digital instrument cluster, premium leather upholstery, open-pore wood inserts, and a panoramic glass roof. The model also benefits from advanced driver assistance systems, including Pilot Assist, lane-keeping aid, and adaptive cruise control.

Under the bonnet, the XC70 is offered with multiple powertrains, including a 2.0-litre turbo petrol (295bhp, 420Nm), mild-hybrid diesel (275bhp, 600Nm), and a plug-in hybrid (455bhp, 709Nm). All variants are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, with drive modes for sand, gravel, snow, and rough terrain. The XC70 also delivers an all-electric driving range of 200km, while its combined efficiency allows it to cover more than 1,200km without needing a charger or a fuel station.

Deliveries of the Volvo XC70 in global markets are expected to commence by mid-2026, with India launch plans likely to be revealed later.
