The Tata Sierra, originally introduced in 1991, was discontinued in 2005. This was a 14-year run for the ‘OG’. Fast forward to 2025, the Sierra returns in a futuristic avatar after a 20-year hiatus. Will the reimagined Sierra take the 34-year legacy forward? Here’s a complete real-life glimpse.

Up front, the Sierra sports a dual-tone bumper, horizontally slatted grille, silver skid plate, and fog lights. The headlights are so neatly integrated, they appear almost hidden.

Move to the side, and you’ll see thick black wheel arch claddings, blacked-out ORVMs with turn indicators and a camera, flush-fitting door handles, black side claddings, thickened B-pillar, and a side glass housing that mimics the original Sierra. However, it is a thick accent, not a curved ‘Alpine’ roof.

The Sierra rides on 19-inch dual-tone alloys. These are 225/55 MRF Wanderer Ecotred tyres.

Step inside the cabin, and this is where the Sierra gets futuristic. A tri-cluster setup welcomes occupants, and the steering has a familiar quad-spoke design, something we’ve seen inside the Nexon, Curvv, and the Harrier EV.

While the cars were turned off, and functionalities handicapped in order to keep key details under wraps, we could make out a dual-zone climate control system inside the cabin.

The Sierra has dual-tone upholstery, soft-touch dashboard materials, and ample occupant space. The front seats also have adjustable under-thigh supports.

One interesting bit was the floating centre console, which isn’t typical of ICE vehicles. We can also see a triple-tone drive selector lever that gets a leather wrap, chrome insert, and piano black finishes (top to bottom).

Look closely, and you find some interesting collaborations. One of those is a JBL soundbar with Dolby Atmos.

We can also see a three-level ventilation for the front seats.

We can also see AC vents for rear occupants.

The Sierra's pedals are finished in black.

The rear wiper stalk is neatly concealed.

The Sierra’s rear section also gets a pronounced rear spoiler, full-width LED tail light bar, silver skid plate, and a powered tailgate. The tail section also gets a clamshell design, an implementation that isn’t easy to pull off.

While we do not have a number on the Sierra’s overall boot capacity yet, it appears quite spacious, since the spare tyre isn’t in the boot – it is mounted underneath.

The 2025 Tata Sierra will launch on 25 November. This is the day where its ICE powertrains will be exclusively detailed. We will also have all numbers, including the price, on this day itself. Stay tuned for further developments.
