- Compact SUV to get a refresh
- No sheet metal changes expected
Renault India will launch a refreshed version of the Kiger compact SUV this year. It will be amongst the first new launches after a hiatus, with the previous version of the car being launched in 2021. Here's all that we can expect from the upcoming version.
Exterior
The Kiger will continue to be based on the CMF-A+ platform, a derivative of the Renault Kwid’s CMF-A platform. After all, the Renault Kiger is a mechanical cousin of the Nissan Magnite, which received a facelift last year. Now, it's time for the Renault model to get a little nip and tuck. As a result, we don't expect sheet metal changes but revisions to the lights, bumpers, and the wheels. Notably, the carmaker will emboss the new ‘Nouvel’R’ logo as a part of this refresh.
Interior
Inside, the cabin layout is expected to remain the same, but will incorporate new colours. This includes accents on the dashboard, door trims, and even the upholstery. It would be great if the carmaker makes some improvements to the infotainment system, new C-Type ports, and quality of materials used in the cabin.

Powertrain
Renault will most likely continue to use the existing powertrain line-up. This includes a naturally aspirated 71bhp, 1.0-litre petrol engine, and a 99bhp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. Both come mated to a five-speed manual as standard, but the non-turbo unit gets an optional AMT and the turbo-petrol can be had with a CVT.
Launch Timeline
There's no confirmed launch date from Renault, but we can expect the carmaker to bring in the 2025 Kiger by the third quarter of this year. As for its pricing, we don't expect the brand to ask for a premium, unless there's a significant improvement in the quality of materials, or additional features in the compact SUV.
