- The Japanese hatchback is now available in four trims with one diesel and one petrol engine option.

Nissan has made subtle updates to the Micra for 2018MY with a few more features and rejigged trim levels. The hatchback is now priced at Rs 5.03 lakhs and is available in just two trims – XL O and XV – across two engine options.
With the 2018MY update, the Micra now gets dual front airbags as standard along with rear parking sensors, seat belt warning and speed warning device. The XV trim also gets a rearview camera and turn indicators on OVRMs and a petite rear spoiler. Also part of the update is a 6.2-inch touchscreen with navigation and smartphone connectivity in the XV trim. Even NissanConnect is available only in the higher XV variant.
The mechanicals remains unchanged. So the Micra continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 76bhp and 104Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre diesel mill producing 64bhp and 160Nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via five-speed manual gearbox in the diesel while the petrol is only available with Nissan’s X-Tronic CVT transmission.
