Tata Motors is still revelling in the success of the Zest. Recently, 154 Tata Zest customers participated in a rally to create a record for being the largest convoy of a single branded vehicle. They now find themselves registered in the Asia Book of Records for this feat.
All the vehicles gathered at the Pan Card Club in Baner, Pune. As a part of the record, the participants drove 21.19 kilometres from Baner to the Mumbai-Bangalore highway and back. They went in a convoy of three batches.
Tata Motors had previously taken such an initiative with the Zest - it was a mileage run with 665 cars in 19 cities. The highest mileage achieved was 47.69kmpl with the petrol variant and 37.54kmpl with the diesel variant.
Tata Motors’ Zest — the compact sedan — was the first new product under the HorizonNext strategy. Launched in 2014, the Zest was the first diesel vehicle under the Rs 10 lakh mark to have an automated gearbox. Now, even the Maruti Swift Dzire has joined the bandwagon.
