Exterior The styling of the car is truly commendable and I can challenge any car in this sengment, if it can even match up to the agressiveness of the front of this car. The front is truly awesome inspired by the EVOLUTION-X.. the roof rails add to the overall stance of the car. however I feel the alloys could have been much more better.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The car can be used as almost everything from a picnic car to a heavily loaded truck. it does all for you. you can electrically fold the rear seats and put a matress inside and your mobile bedroom is ready. talking about features i think it offers much more features than fortuner, endevour and name watever you feel like, it has adaptive front lighting system, keyless entry system, best music system which is truly awesome by rockford, seat heaters and 3 sockets points to make you feel at home. the quality of interiors ooze out with luxury and the simple but impressive design of the interiors is the icing on the cake. leg space is no problem at all even if two six footers are sitting one behind the other. AC works liks achilling machine the car is equiped with climate control feature which maintains the desired temperature.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Ii have the outlander 2010 with the jet fighter grill. i would say that the car's pick up is a little disappointment because of its cvt gearbox because what happens is that when u are cruising the automatic transmission goes in bigger gears and when u press the pedal the gear does not shift down quickly which brings a little delay in the power. Also in 6th gear the car has no pick up it seems as if that gear is made just to maintain a constant speed. however if you shift to pedal shifts the car matches with the agressiveness of its grill..the car just flies in that manual mode. the shifting is too smooth making u feel like as if you are flying thanks to the cvt gearbox here. talking about the fuel economy, it really depends on the way you drive. You can get 6 kmpl or even 13.6 kmpl but with standard driving style it gives around 9kmpl including all road conditions. the car is also equiped with 4wd system which is actually a great help on indian road conditions. you can select different modes, for economical drive put in 2wd but anywhere after the speed of 120 km plz do switch to 4wd as it adds to the stability and the braking of the car. the car feels completly different in 4wd you must try it.

Ride Quality & Handling Well handling is superb even at high speed because they have compromised on the suspension to get that. the car feels flawless on smooth roads but take it off road and you see the suspension is quite hard making a lot of cabin noise but that is it ...you really dont feel jerks inside....so 4 stars to it but mitsubishi compromise there is also not accepted because i know you can do it and  cedia is a perfect example for the suspension.

Final Words You must own one.. better than fortuner, crv and all... moreover it stands out frm the crowd due to its extra ordinary grill and lighting.

Areas of improvement Just the suspension and the gearbox or else it is perfect.

music system, lights, front grill and everythingPick up and hard suspension

HI EVERYONE ... I BOUGHT BLACK OUTLANDER ON OCT 23RD 2008 , ITS A 1ST SUV IN HYDERABAD & 5TH IN INDIA .. THT TIME I THOUGHT 20LAC WOULD BE THE BEST PRICED .. AS I PAID 23LAC ... NOW I'VE DRIVEN CRV & FORTUNER .. THE LUXURY FEATURES WHAT U LOOK FOR IN A LUXURY SUV ABOVE 20LAC ,, U GET TO SEE IN OUTLANDER !! FUEL = CITY 8.4 - 8.9 KMPL ; HIGHWAY - 9.9KMPL . INTERIORS = BEAUTIFULLY DONE INTERIORS , DRIVER'S SEAT WITH FULLY LOADED ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED . SEAT HEATERS IN DRIVER'S AND PASSENGERS SEAT. FEATURES = CRUISE CONTROL , TRIPTONIC ,2WD TO 4WD SHIFT CONTROL ,STRONG SUV .. KEYLESS ENTRY ... CRV :- DOESNT HAVE CRUISE CONTROL , TRIPTONIC .. FORTUNER :- NO LUXURY FEATURES ,NO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION , NO CRUISE .... JUST OUT LOOK .. PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE KNOWLDEGE ABT THE SUV ARE BUYING FORTUNER ,, AS THEIR MAIN CRITERIA IS DIESEL .... THE WEAKNESS OF MITSUBISHI :- THE TOP MANAGEMENT IS WEAK ... MITSUBISHI DOESNT HAVE STRONG MANAGERS AS THEY HAVE IN HONDA OR TOYOTA ... SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SUV AND THE COMPANY DOESNT KNOW HOW TO PROMOTE THEIR BRAND AND MARKET ... EVEN THE DEALERS OF MITSUBISHI ARE LOUSY ... EVEN THE COLORS ARE VERY LOUSY ..THEY SHOULD HAVE SILVER, DARK GREY AND PEARL WHITE AS ADDITION .... OTHER THAN THIS MANAGEMENT AND DEALERS .. OUTLANDER IS THE BEST PERFORMANCE SUV WITH CLASSY LOOKS AND GREAT INTERIORS AND POWERFUL VEHICLE WITH GREAT PICK UP . . .

AMAZING SUV compared to CRV & FORTUNER ..EXCELLENT INTERIORS , LUXURY FEATURES ,EQUIVALENT TO BMW X3 .

I've been driving this cross-over for 8 months now and I enjoy everytime I get behind the wheel. I wanted a soft-roader that took care of my city driving needs and provided decent of-roading capabilities. I wanted three features in my car 4 wheel drive preferably not all time, automatic with sporty drive and cruise control. I engage the cruise control even during city driving (above 40 kmph) and I am surprised by how efficient the drive system and the engine is, I even got 12 kmpl several times.

The suspension is excellent although a bit noisy. The only complaint I have is that the rear left seat vibrates when driving over rough patches, the service engineers haven't been able to fix it. I think it just needs some additional grip at the base harness/lock system. The point in having an automatic system is supposed to keep your left hand free however the turn indicators are on the left of the steering wheel. I guess is this a problem with cars build to export to left hand driving countries. The controls are not invertable.

The engine is very powerful, use the paddle shifters for quick overtaking on the expressway. Tip: You can use the cruise control system to drive the car (Speed/slow down) with just your thumb and give your right foot much deserved rest during long drives.

I found the heated seat usefull when I have a backache.

The car comes with a blow away Rockfort Fosgate 8.1 channel system, you will like it if you are a music lover.

Overall it's a great car it comes with a ton of bells and whistles as standard equipment that most other cars at a comparable price don't even provide as options.

      I'll highly recommend this car.

CVT Transmission, Audio System, Paddle Shifters, 4wheel drive, Spacious Rear Seating, Cruise ControlNo Roof-Rails, No Sun-Roof, left hand side turn indicator controls

Its an exceptional vehicle in its class.I have in my inventory an Audi, Camry , Corrolla and few other cars but I always love to drive my outlander anywhere. I have experienced driving this type of vehicle only in US. I recently saw a paper cutting where Narain Karthikeyan , Ace driver in India was mentioning about his Car inventory. He had an Audi,BMW, Laborgini and couple of big names but he also had an outlander and he loved it as he mentioned. ( Courtesy The Hindu ). Test drive it , compare it with CRV and Foretuner which is its real competitors..You will notice the difference. Its engine is marvelous as I found any glitches...some times I miss if its turned on or off , its so smooth. Test Drive it ...you will know first hand than me....all the best driving...Exceptional Comfort , handling ,Good Style and other features.None-little on economy but nullified with other feauture

is this the crv killer in the market we all have been waiting for? with killer looks and amazing styling.Mitsubishi needs to add more dealer network in the country for this model to be successful. moreover no diesel option. and the price should not cross 20 lakh mark. the suv segment is the hottest right now. mistubishi should go on and update even lancer and introduce more lancer models in the country.

if you have not driven this beauty, then you have missed the bus (or SUV?). the more you drive this out of the world SUV the more you get addicted to its superb handling, always responsive to the driver and working on your 'instict' car!

One feels like inventing excuses to go out and derive the pleasure of its drive. the front. rear and side view of this vehicle are as it is more attractive than anything on the Indian raods, its interiors are also very appealing and soothing. whether you are an experienced driver or a newbie, you will love the experience.

Summary: Outlander is truly an out of the world experience.

ride confort and handlingIts high J factor!

      Exterior

Its even more prettier, looks like Audi from far. Its definitely gonna slowdown the CR-V market. I am buying one.....

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

The stereo is still from Rockford, but updated stereo and more output for sub with a bigger Amp. The space is pretty decent, though the armrest is not good at all.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

The engine remains the same, however we should have been given an option now for diesel motor or maybe V6 petrol. The sunroof(its hogh time) should have been added. The fuel economy is also more than acceptable as for the SUV of its size. The technology is similar to that of Honda VTEC.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Ride is even improved and its pretty smooth to handle. The motor is silent so, u don't feel the vibrations at all.

      Final Words

I have driven the test vehicle and have booked it. Its a better deal than CR-V, Range Rover Freelander 2. Suzuki Grand Vitara, Audi Q5.

      Areas of improvement

The rear armrest, definitely needs improvement. Sunroof is must now.

      Else its perfect.

Face Lift, GT Model. Looks More SexierRear Armrest

      Exterior

quality of bodywork and paint is good. does not require much maintainence after rough use cross country. overall even looks good. japanese design pleasing to look at with a combination of muscular as well as delicate lines. Xenon headlights may be powerful but focus and spread is quite poor. Inadequate for high speed night driving.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

extremely comfortable inside. quiet cabin very well insulated. has all the possible creature comforts you can think of. mitsu should provide seat coolers for our country in place of heating, class airconditioning which is super quiet. space and comfort puts 50lac rupee suv's to shame.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

engine is quite punchy. Very quiet operation. You cant tell the operation of the engine cooling fan even in the quietest of places, which is quite audible in other cars even in the city. silent running makes it an ideal vehicle on remote trails. Fuel economy is the weak point. Whatever car magazines and company brochures claim is practically not possible to achieve in this car unless you drive it down a hill for half an hour. Best highway efficiency achievable at 80km/hr is 12km/l. City use between 6-7km/l. Gear box is super lazy. Unless you flip the paddles behind the wheels you wont get any move, overtaking in D mode can be dangerous. 3rd 4th 5th are the gears in which it really flies, 1st 2nd 6th gears are badly matched, 1st can be understandably kept for low but 2 nd is also equally low and 6th is so high that the engine struggles for power even at 120km/h

      Ride Quality & Handling

Ride though a bit stiff, handling is unmatched. high speed dynamics are class leading and shockingly good. even bad roads are taken care of very easily. Vehicle really reigns supreme on the highways in a heavy downpour, just slot it into 4wd and step on the pedal, and you ll surely leave the traffic behind. The only thing that makes you hold back on your speed over bad rural roads is the steering. Gives too much feedback that prevents you from achieving any speeds over 20-30km/hr on untarred/unpaved roads. The whole system just shudders and rattles unlike other suv's. Surprising from mitsubishi to have designed it this way after being rally legends. Somehow the dealers also dont have an answer to this issue even after replacing the entire system.

      Final Words

Its a very strong and comfortable car/ but not as tough as even other softroaders.

      Areas of improvement

Diesel engine required badly and a new steering system that can tackle indian roads. Lack of service support.

ride, handling, dynamic chassis, suspension, braking, super comfortablenot as tough as it looks, rattly steering system from new, drinks exp fuel in style

I'm owing it for last 7 years. I bought a used one at half the price. Everything is great about this car; Steering control even at high speed, power, Auto transmission, paddle shift, music system. CRV is a soft baby before this. Drivers seating gives good view. Suspensions are good. No body roll. Felt safer than the Mighty Land Cruiser at high speed. Spare parts is a big issue and added to that SVR MOTORS in Bangalore is a nuisance. I dunno why Mitsubishi is killing this beauty beast.

A total redesign targeted traditional segment leaders with increased size, a host of new features and a thorough makeover inside and out. Notably, the Outlander gained 4 inches of length, which made third-row seating possible while adding 13 cubic feet of cargo space. Mitsubishi's small SUV is available in four trims: ES, LS, SE and top-of-the-line XLS.The entry-level four-cylinder ES includes many must-have accoutrements as well as a full array of safety features. Moving up to the midlevel, V6-powered LS adds nice features like alloy wheels, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and a roof rack. The SE has the base four-cylinder engine but includes upscale features like a Rockford Fosgate audio system. The high-end V6-powered Outlander XLS offers Bluetooth, keyless ignition, automatic climate control and a fold-flat third-row bench seat. With the standard third-row seat, all Outlanders have a seven-passenger capacity, though the rear seat is strictly for small children. The Outlander can also be outfitted with high-tech options like a navigation system, a special 30-gigabyte hard drive that can store MP3 audio files and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system.
