How is the Maruti XL6 car?
Pros
- Spacious, big comfortable and supportive seats, good head- and knee-room.
- The premium crossover styling sets it apart from the Ertiga crowd.
- Is reasonably loaded with features over the Ertiga.
- High seat improves third-row outward visibility.
- Exhaustive sales and service network. Solid resale value.
Cons
- Less composed over broken stretches of road at higher speeds.
- Quality along with fit/finish needs improvement in some cabin areas.
- Top-end versions are quite expensive now.
XL6 Engine Specifications

Positives:
- The XL6 is powered by a 1.5-litre K15C engine producing 102bhp and 136Nm of torque. Apart from a five-speed manual gearbox, a new six-speed torque converter transmission is also being offered. It comes in a CNG manual option but with a lower power output.
- The silent and refined engine remains vibration-free at idling. With seamless gearshifts, it provides a sufficient push at lower revs and gets more responsive post 2,000rpm.
- The manual version of the XL6 comes with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15C petrol engine. It churns out 102bhp and 136Nm and comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Negatives:
- Post 4,500-5,000rpm the engine gets very noisy.

The XL6 is also offered with a factory-fitted CNG with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine offered on the standard model. Here it produces 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque. It’s only available with a five-speed manual gearbox options.

XL6 Convenience & Technology
USPs of the XL6:
- AT gets paddle shifters - The paddle shifters offered with the XL6 are a first for the MPV. In fact, they are a first in the entire Nexa range as well.
- 360-degree camera - The 360-degree camera provides a decent view of the surroundings which is helpful for a big MPV like the XL6 and handy to use.
- Suzuki connectivity - The brand also offers a connected experience with the XL6, thanks to the Suzuki Connect connectivity app.
Features Missing:
- The XL6 misses out on a sunroof, big touchscreen system, drive modes, ambient lighting, wireless charger, and an air purifier.
Maruti XL6 Safety
The Japanese carmaker offers a host of active and passive safety equipment with the XL6.
Active safety: There's a quad airbag setup which includes two front and two front-seat side airbags. Then, there are ISOFIX child seat anchors in the second row. Other important active safety features include TPMS, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
Passive safety: In addition to the aforementioned features, Suzuki's TECT (Total Effective Control Technology) platform provides 10 per cent more torsional rigidity and is lighter by 15 per cent. The brand says these minor improvements result in better safety in the case of an impact.
However, do note that there is no crash safety information. Though the XL6’s cousin, the Ertiga, scored a three-star safety rating in GNAP, the XL6 has not been crash tested yet, so we do not have the crash test scores.
XL6 Exterior & Interior Styling
Interior theme standard across trims:
- All-black interior - Whichever trim one chooses, the XL6 comes in a black theme inside.
- Leather-wrapped steering - Except for the entry-level Zeta trim, the top-spec Alpha and Alpha+ variants get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leatherette seats.
- Second-row versatility - All the variants get the practical second-row captain seats with one-touch recline and slide.
- Adjustable third row - Even the third row of seats can be folded with a 50:50 split and come with a reclining function. These can be folded flat for more space in the boot.
Only the entry-level Zeta trim offers CNG:
- Prospective buyers cannot have the top-spec XL6 in a CNG option. As a result, they will miss some key features if they opt for the CNG version.

2 - A great family car, it's not a sports carTirunelveli Adhi Nexa did a great job and helped with the purchase. Excellent to drive and handle. It is beautiful and excellent to look at. Maintenance costs are not burdensome. All features are excellent. A little extra torque will be comfortable on highways. A great car for the Family. It is not a Sports car.
