    • Comes with Nice feature
Driving Experience: What It Feels Like Performance & Acceleration The car accelerates quickly — from a stop, there’s a strong torque surge typical of EVs. The Boost mode helps deliver extra punch when overtaking. Even in modes other than the sportiest ones, you get usable performance. You don’t always need to go full throttle to feel responsive. Zero to 100 km/h takes around 6.8-7.2 seconds for the higher battery / power variants. Ride Comfort The suspension is quite good at soaking up small bumps and potholes. Especially at low speeds, the ride is smooth and refined. Semi-active dampers help adjust the damping depending on road quality — which means over rougher surfaces or at higher speeds, things remain composed. On larger wheels (20-inch optional), some harshness is felt over bigger bumps; road chatter is more pronounced than smaller wheels. Side-to-side rocker motions can be felt when road isn’t smooth. Handling & Stability The centre of gravity is low due to battery placement, so body roll is better controlled than many large SUVs. High-speed stability is good. Up to 120-150 km/h on good roads, the XEV 9e feels planted. But being a big, heavy EV, it’s not as nimble as smaller vehicles around tight corners. Steering: At city speeds, it’s fairly light and easy to manoeuvre. In highways or at speed, it picks up a bit more weight which gives confidence. But some users feel the steering could give more feedback (especially on twisty roads). Driving Modes, Regenerative Braking & One-Pedal There are multiple drive modes: Range, Everyday, Race (or equivalent names). Race gives more aggressive throttle response; Range and Everyday are tuned more for smoothness / efficiency. Regen braking is good. The car allows a few levels of regen and/or a one-pedal drive mode, which lets you slow down just by lifting your foot off the accelerator. This helps reduce brake usage in city traffic. Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) As expected with EVs, motor noise is almost none — very silent hover unless you push hard. Wind noise and tyre noise creep in at higher speeds, but not excessive. Cabin insulation is generally good. Thuds from really big potholes are felt, but they’re fairly well damped. Things That Could Be Better / What to Watch Out For Brake pedal feel: Some drivers mention that the transition between regen braking and physical braking (when you press the brake) isn’t always as linear and smooth as they'd like. Heavy braking shows the car’s weight. Steering feedback: While it works great for comfort and everyday use, those who expect sharp feedback (for sporty driving or winding roads) might wish for more. Big wheels / larger tyres increase ride harshness over very uneven surfaces. If your roads are bad, the variant with smaller wheels might give a better ride. Huge size & weight: While you don’t feel it too much in town, parking, tight turns or reverse manoeuvres might need more caution. Also impacts energy consumption at higher speeds. Overall Feel / Summary It feels premium and well-built. The electric powertrain gives that instant torque, and the driving experience is quiet and refined compared to ICE SUVs. Good balance between comfort and performance. You can easily use it day to day for commuting, school runs, etc., without feeling like you're driving a big lumbering SUV. On highways, long drives are reasonably pleasant. The ride is stable, and the car doesn’t feel stretched to its limits unless very high speeds or very rough roads are involved. For someone transitioning from ICE cars, the smoothness, low noise, immediate response and simplified driving (thanks to regen / one-pedal) are likely to feel refreshing. If you like, I can write a version of the driving experience from your perspective (city roads in Jamshedpur + highway) so you can see what to expect where you live. Do you want that?

    • Fun to drive family cost saving car
This was a good car, and I had driven it with my whole family over a good range, and did a small trip, which was fun to drive too. Really loved the car. And the features I got were also good, just some price issue, as it's a little expensive, that's why I got the 59kw model.

    • Detailed Review About XEV 9E range
      user-review-images-988759-0
I had a great experience driving XEV 9E the best thing I loved about the one pedal drive and the Regeneration levels working because driving an ev car is a majorly concern for range but after driving this car i can definitely say that in a single charge, I drove about 570 km, including highway and city. Also planning soon to purchase it and I have driven my friends car.

    • My hands on experience of Mahindra Xev 9e (57kwh) variant
The new Mahindra XEV 9e caught my attention the moment I saw it at the dealership. As someone who’s been waiting to shift from a diesel SUV to a full EV, this model feels like Mahindra finally nailed the balance between technology, performance, and practicality. The design looks futuristic without being overdone—the sharp LED DRLs, flush door handles, and aerodynamic silhouette make it stand out on the road. Inside, the cabin feels premium with soft-touch materials and a large dual-screen setup. The infotainment is smooth, and the 360-degree camera quality is impressive. I test-drove the long-range variant, and the instant torque really surprised me—it’s both quick and silent. The claimed range of around 450–500 km seems realistic for city use with occasional highway trips . Charging is convenient with both fast and home-charging options, and Mahindra’s expanding network gives some peace of mind. The suspension tuning feels slightly firm, but it keeps the car planted on curves. What really stands out is the sense of confidence in build quality—you can tell safety was a priority here. Overall, the XEV 9e feels like a solid move by Mahindra into the premium EV market. It’s not just an electric car—it’s a sign Indian automakers are catching up fast.

    • Fun to drive
Futuristic design and feature-rich cabin. Fast charging capability. Only cons are the Expensive top variants. Cluttered infotainment interface. Rear seat ergonomics could be better. Interiors may be hard to maintain. Verdict: The Mahindra XEV 9e is a game-changer in the Indian EV landscape. If you want a safe, powerful, and future-ready electric SUV. Built on the INGLO platform, this SUV offers a blend of safety, technology, and performance that feels future-ready. Design and Interiors: The Mahindra XEV 9e carries a bold and modern design, with sharp lines and a strong road presence. The cabin is tech-loaded with multiple large screens, an AR head-up display, premium audio, and comfortable seating. However, the white/leatherette interior trim may not be practical for everyone, as it tends to show stains easily. This was a good car, and I had driven it with my whole family over a good range, and did a small trip, which was fun to drive too. Really loved the car. And the features I got were also good, just some price issue, as it's a little expensive, that's why I got the 59 kw model. After extensive research and analysis, I have decided to purchase the Mahindra XEV 9e. It appears to be superior to a BMW. I am eager to experience this electric vehicle; its design is both bold and appealing.
