I purchased the Mahindra Thar in black a few months ago, and it’s been an amazing experience so far. The buying process was smooth, with helpful staff explaining all features in detail. The first drive itself gave a feeling of pure power and confidence — the engine roar, road presence, and high seating position make every trip special. It performs exceptionally well both in city traffic and rough terrain. The black colour looks premium but requires frequent cleaning to maintain its shine. Interiors are practical and comfortable, though the rear seats are slightly cramped. Mileage is decent for its segment, and performance is solid. Servicing has been professional and timely, with reasonable costs. It has Bold looks, a strong build, great off-road ability, powerful engine. The only cons are Limited boot space, average mileage, hard ride on rough roads. Regular servicing, underbody cleaning after off-road in, tyre rotation, and waxing to preserve the black shine. Overall, the Mahindra Thar is a perfect mix of adventure and style for those who love to stand out!

Maine Mahindra Thar used li aur use daily driving ke saath off-road bhi chalaya hai. Gaadi chalate hi power aur strong build ka confidence milta hai. Gaddhe, kacche road aur rough rasto par bina problem nikal jaati hai. Highway par drive stable lagti hai, bas speed badhne par wind noise thoda feel hota hai. Front seats comfortable hain, lekin rear seat long drive ke liye thodi tight hai. Mileage average milta hai par performance ke hisaab se theek lagta hai. Overall Thar un logon ke liye best hai jo normal car se alag experience chahte hain

Driving Experience: The 2.2L mHawk diesel engine paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission offers a punchy, smooth drive, excellent for both city cruising and highway runs. The 4WD capability makes it an off-road beast. However, the ladder-on-frame chassis means the on-road ride can be stiff and bumpy at low speeds. Looks and Features: Its muscular, boxy looks ensure massive road presence. Features include a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, cruise control, and a hard top for better cabin insulation. Mileage and More: Owner-reported mileage typically ranges from 9-13 km/l, which is decent for its size and capability. Cons include limited rear space and high wind noise at higher speeds. It's a fantastic, head-turning second car for adventure enthusiasts.

The Mahindra Thar is a powerful and rugged SUV built for true adventure lovers. Its bold design, strong engine, and impressive off-road performance make it stand out on any terrain. The interiors are more comfortable and modern than before, offering a great balance between style, power, and practicality. Perfect for those who love exploring new roads.

It is the real king of SUV’s I have xuv700 with me already but the way people look at it while driving on road is totally different the way it looks and the 1.5 litre diesel engine is more than powerful for this 2 ton vehicle I overall loved the feel and performance of the vehicle it is full filling all my needs!

This isn't just a car; it's a statement, and the Thar LXT MT 2WD Diesel 1.5L Turbo Manual manages to capture that raw 'jeep-wali' presence without completely breaking the bank. Let's be honest, you buy this variant not for hardcore off-roading, but for the sheer style and the high driving position that makes you feel like the king of the road, especially in crowded city traffic. The 1.5L diesel engine is surprisingly competent—it has enough low-end grunt to pull smoothly from a standstill, making city driving genuinely manageable, and the claimed mileage is a big step up from its bigger 4x4 sibling. This practicality is the Thar's new humanitarian angle—it brings the iconic look to the daily commuter, Now for the unvarnished truth: it's still a Thar. The ride is bumpy, especially over broken city roads; the stiff suspension, which gives it its rugged character, makes it unsettled at high speeds. Rear seat access is a genuine pain thanks to the two-door layout, and the boot space is comically small. If this is your only family car, you will struggle. Interior refinement is basic, and while the cabin is robust and easy to clean (a plus for adventurous types), the high wind noise on the highway will wear you down. Crucially, the biggest drawback remains the safety kit—in 2025, having only two airbags is a glaring miss and feels like a compromise on the well-being of the passengers, an ethical consideration you simply can’t ignore. It’s an emotional purchase that delivers smiles, but you must accept its compromises in comfort and safety for that iconic presence.

I had thought of buying Thar for a long time, but due to fewer features and just the looks were giving me a go. The new facelift has done away with all the shortcomings it had, so no need to go to aftermarket shops to get things done. Mahindra just got a new customer, kudos!
