Exterior Light weight fiber clad body, with weird shape. Smaller & flimsier than nano.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Cramped, struggle to get to back seat, as it is only 2 doors. Lousy entertainment system. Fit and finish is not good. Seats feel as if you are sitting on a iron bench (very hard, without proper cushioning). Weird sitting posture that needs driver to sit cross legged. The car starts rattling within a month!

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Under powered motor, sufficient for regular city traffic. But, don't you dare to park it in steep inclines - it won't pull. Even if you have to climb a steep incline, you need some runway to gain speed.

No gearbox - as it is a automatic (as all electrics are). Fuel economy is great, but is marred by cost of battery replacement every 3-5years. It'll cost you Rs.1,80,000/- to replace battery.

Ride Quality & Handling Horrible. It is like a breadbox on the move. Ok, in slower speeds but has huge body roll in faster speeds. Break is spongy (vaccum breaks) and not precise. Steering too is not very precise (I have a electric power steering model).

Going above 50km speed is very risky.

Small body makes for easy manuevering and parking. But that's true of any small car and this is not much smaller than a alto or eon.

Warranty Mahindra provides only 3 year, 36,000km guarantee on the car & battery!! That must be the lowest warranty offered by any car manufacturer. The only way you can get a 5Year 60,000km warranty is to go for the battery lease scheme. Under this scheme again you get worst deal - You keep paying Rs.3000/month for 5 years, at the end of which you don't have a battery!! You will need to renew the scheme continuing to pay more money to Mahindra (even if the battery is very well).

If you outright buy the battery, then the upfront cost goes up by Rs.1,80,000/- But, you will also have to buy extended warranty if you want coverage for 5 years. That's another Rs. 16,000+.

Nissan provides a 8year 150,000km warranty on its Lithium Ion batteries. Clearly, Mahindra is not confident about the life of its Lithium-ion battery (which is apprrently some chinese made battery).

Final Words E2O is a horrible vehicle. I started having problems on day 2. It stopped due to a blown fuse and they had to come and fix it. Then about a week later the water jet in the wiper stopped working. In about a month I was having squeaking sound (like spring noise) fron rear (perhaps suspension).

The Entertainment system is so poor - it is laughable. Just having a LCD screen doesn't mean anythign if it doesn't provide good sound, allow good menu selection feature (you can't properly go through the folde structure of USB MP3). The navigation system is poor. Overall seem slike a cheap, rotten chinese system put in just to tick-mark a 'feature'.

There is zero possibility of putting additional speakers or sub-woofer in the car as space & fixing are constrained - thus you are stuck with what they have given, and that is very bad indeed.

Only reason to buy this car - THIS IS THE ONLY ELECTRIC CAR ON SALE.

      Everything else is horrible.

Add to this : The seller Mahindra-Reva has a very unethical sales practice. They keep a high ex-showroom price, and sell it at deep discounts depending on how well one can bargain. If you can't bargain you'll be cheated by the salesfolk. They sell the car at their showroom price to anything upto 1.5Lakh discount.

Now there is a new Govt. incentive program which provides Rs.1,24,000/- discount. But, they were giving Rs.1,50,000/- discounts in Feb/March, even without govt. assistance. With govt. assistance the price of the vehicle should have come down by atlest 2lakhs, but it hasn't. They have apparently not passed on the entire govt. subsidy benefit to users, instead just adjusted against the discounts they were providing earlier. The end user price didn't really come down.

So, if you want to buy a electric vehicle, since E2O is the only choice - buy it - only if the company offers Minimum of 1lakh rupee discount, after factoring in Govt. incentive program. Otherwise explicitly tell the folks that you are not willing to be cheated like so many before - where people bought their product at a price, only to realize they overpaid.

Areas of improvement Almost all!  Mahidnra should start providing value for money. Not push some cheapo product at high price. This car is simply not worth the money they charge. It may be worth it if it costs about 4.5lakhs with battery (not lease). They can do it, because leave out the battery & drivetrain, the car doesn't have any expensive stuff. Thermoformed fiber body, welded struss-chassis, not well annointed cabin - are all indicative of massive cost cutting.

If they can fix all these, provide plush interior, fantastic entertainment system, good quality components (Suspension especially) then perhaps, it can be a VFM product at the current price.

And they should simply stop their deceptive pricing/selling practices, where they hit each customer for maximum he'd shell out. Instead hold clear pricing, without massive discounts. The guys who don't get discount are effectively cheated - as their car value came down the moment they came out of showroom.

Recommendation Wait for a better company to offer a better electric vehicle. Nissan may launch leaf in a year or so.

If your need is for a small car with automatic drive - go for Alto AMT or celerio. Same pricepoint you get far better offering.

If you are deadly passionate about saving environment - buy E2O after bargaining heavily. In fact make them desperate to sell you the car, and stick to a demand of a minimum of Rs.1 Lakhs discount on their ex-showroom price (which already reflects govt. subsidy).

I recently bought this car. The cost of operation is very less when i compare  to any other car in the market. Previously I had a Maruthi Alto, when I compare the cost of operation, this car only cost me 0.5 Rs compared to 5 Rs for a kilometer in Alto.

Before buying this car please set your mind that this car is not for full comforts , its for fuel economy and eco conciouness and you are not going to recover the car cost any time soon.  if you are thinking of comforts this is not the car you should buy.

The exterior is futuristic and the interiors are really average. I would personally expect a power steering and good suspension in the future versions atleast.   The AC is good , key Authentication needs little practice. I will naturally expect a better seat and more dashboar space in the future versions.

The speedometer is the most fantastic part of the car, its display is beautiful and very fluid. The navigation system is average, the volume knob and buttons could have been bigger like the AC knobs. The integration with mobile is very good, I have not taken the mobile app package as its cost is very high, 30,000 for 3 years. Atleast as a initial offer this could have been given free so that we can experience the technology.

The car is two door so I have to go through some discomfort to move the front seat for any one to get inside the back seat, it would have been great if it had four doors. The boot space is very average when compared to other cars. The leg spacing for the back seat is comfortable for a big adult .

On the whole I am loving this car because it gives me a feeling that I am saving the environment for our kids to enjoy.

I have bought Mahindra e2o under battery lease agreement (GFHE). Overall, I was satisfied with the vehicle performance until 30K kms. As per the agreement, battery is supposed to be working fine for 5 years or 50K kms. But immediately around 30K kms, vehicle started to give problems, eg,, vehicle stops in the middle of the road, while the range still shows 35kms.  It happened couple of times. I took it to service guys and they say battery performance has come down and it is natural :(  They are giving all technical details without solving my problem with the battery.  Vehicle is supposed to give 120km range, but now it drops to 96km after service. First time you will feel why you trusted Mahindra and bought electric vehicle. It's a punishment for the trust you place in Mahindra.  As per the agreement, battery pack should be fixed or repaired to bring it back to full range, but the service team.

I sincerly hope Mahindra gets more tough competition from Tata, Maruti etc., so that their sales and service teams will keep their promises.

Exterior Poor exterior design. Door gaps are making us to vomit. Door is hard to open and not locking properly. rear door to roof gaps are high.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good interiors especially Instrument panel is good. Sppedo meter is awesome. pedals are closely packed. Gear knob is bit sticky and skidding. Sound quality to be improved. navigation system is not user friendly. responce time is more.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good pickup. smooth to ride.

Ride Quality & Handling Suspension are of bad quality. steering effort is very poor. not suitable for city drive.

Final Words Not worthy for money. battery life seems to be very less and replacement cost will be high. rear entry is still difficult. in case of collision rear passengers cant escape. you have to destroy the car and take out the rear passengers.

Areas of improvement All thee areas of the car to be improved.

Bought this car a month back, and feel cheated by Mahindra-Reva. They gave me 50,000 discount, But have been extending upto 1.5Lakh discounts in March! This devalues the car rapidly.

So, if any of you ever consider buying this car, do not accept less than 1Lakh discount from Mahindra-Reva, and insist on a clear letter than if they offer any more discount within couple of months of you buying it, they'll extend it to you too, to preserve the value of the car. They have an awful practice of short-changing the customer customer by charging what ever they can get away with, instead of having an honest to goodness pricing for all, which retains the value of the car.

I personally feel 'cheated' by this company, because in spite of giving me an assurance to pass on any reduction in value of car (other than taxes), they are playing around now.

Exterior: Looks OK. Quality of finish is pretty good, though it has an irregular shape. Some people may even like it, some may not. Not a universally likable design.

Bright headlights, the rear window could have been bigger.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Seats are not comfortable. They don't have the regular car seats that have springs/sponge, instead feels harder than even the lower end maruti cars.

Space is adequate, but you'll need to be flexible to get in to back seat. Driving position isn't very comfortable due to wrongly placed pedals. The accelerator is in the place wher enormally Break would be, and break is where clutch would be - thus you have to sit a bit cross legged!! This is done because the front wheel arch eats in to the pedal space.

You won't be able to do much to improve the interiors, as very few options are available.

Air Conditioning: is good, cools well. But, sucks battery!! It takes upto 1Kwh (or 15% of 10.5kwh battery) for every hour. So, if you have AC on and drive in a city for 2-3hours, then expect the battery range to be maximum of 60km (not 100+ you'd get without AC)!! I found this really strange because in my regular cars, AC only reduces mileage by 10%. Here it seems to be almost 40%!!

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

No gear box. No transmission at all. This is electric-motor, that provides max.torque at 1rpm!!

In 'Forward' mode the engine has adequate performance for most of driving. But, if you want to quickly overtake you'd need to go to 'Boost' mode, and it can be as fast as any performance car in reaching upto 60km!! And that's a lovely feeling. But, you'd mostly want to drive in "F" mode for conserving battery.

Battery will need replacement in perhaps 4-5years. And from an economy perspective, you might be better off buying a Alto/Estillo etc.

YOU DON'T BUY AN ELECTRIC CAR FOR ECONOMY YET!! YOU BUY IT BECAUSE IT IS GREEN AND IS EASY TO MAINTAIN & DRIVE.

      Ride Quality & Handling

This is the best part of the car. It is very relaxing to drive this vehicle even in the most crowded city roads. It takes very little effort (being automatic) and it being small & flexible makes it easy to maneuver around. Parks in much smaller areas (perhaps even smaller area than Nano), has least turning radius of all the cars in India.

Shock absorbers are not as good as what you find in mid-segment cars.

It is a tall boy design and may feel a bit awkward in cornering, but is fairly stable at the speeds it goes (Max 85km). I have rarely crossed 80km and never need to in a city.

SO - AN IDEAL CITY CAR.

      Final Words

I am extremely upset with Mahindra-Reva for spoiling the value of the car by indiscriminate, and unreliable discounts. I don't have a problem in paying for value, but when the manufacturer himself devalues the car - I feel cheated.

But, other than that - I am having fun with the car. It is extremely nice city run about. Amazing feeling not to worry about going to petrol pump, or having to worry about maintenance (once a year is all you need to do, that too for mechanicals like shocks and wearable items).

CLEARLY - OUR FUTURE IS ELECTRIC. If you want to sample the future, this is the only car you can buy in India. I had driven Nissan Leaf in USA, and that's a much much better car, but that'd be way to expensive in India. This doesn't even come close in terms of power & comforts, but provides the same hassel free driving experience.

      Areas of improvement

Honesty in their sales process is the major improvement needed. Their practice of shortchaing their customers by providing different pricing, undermines the car.

They also need to provide a minimum of 5year, 60,000km warranty on battery & Motor. Current 3yr/36,000waranty doesn't cut it.

They also need to improve their In Car entertainment system. It seems like some cheap chinese product! And the speakers are a joke (though they are from JBL or Blapunkt).  They should provide better cushining in seats.

And finally - their pedal positioning can be like regular car.

      ADVICE TO BUYERS:

DON'T BE CHEATED BY MAHINDRA-REVA SALES GUYS. THEY WILL PUSH YOU TO BUY AT FULL PRICE. DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS THAN 1L DISCOUNT. ALSO DEMAND AN WRITTEN UNDERTAKING FOR BEST DISCOUNTED PRICE IN THAT QUARTER.

(i.e. if they reduce the final price for what ever reason other than tax/duty, i.e. subsidy or their own discount, they should compensate you for loss of value by refunds). Otherwise your car value will be down by over one lakh on the day of your delivery, as they will start advertising a huge discount the very next week!!

Exterior Exterior is the only good thing about this car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very claustrophobic. AC does not reach the back. AC is very noisy. Power upgrade was poorly done.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Nothing to mention.

Ride Quality & Handling Turning radius is good.

Final Words Do not buy - The battery is really bad. Mahindra gives 5 year warranty, all they do is some nonsense called power boost the cells which are not charging. I have had 3 breakdowns thrice in the middle of the night.  My car is 3.5 years old. It has run 39 Kms. I have spent 8 lakhs. It is nothing but a security Hazard. As a women driver - I think it is very risk especially if you are someone who drives back late from work

Areas of improvement Attitude towards customers sucks, Insensitive Service Centre, Battery Warranty is all Sham. Till not they have not got their charging ecosystem right. They have not given the portable battery after 3.8 years till now. They just cheat.

Its quiet, smooth driveBattery lets you down. The service is horrible. Senior team is very insensitive - customer UNfriendl

Not a great vehicle. My advice is never even go to the showroom to have a look at this car.

Today night I was driving this car from Vijaynagar at 1930 hours near the bus depot. That time the charge was 36%. From there I came to ISCKON temple at 2000 hours and left ISCKON at 2044 hours and the charge was 22%. After that I came to Rajajinagar E Block 4th Main (which is not even one and half kilometre from ISCKON) All of a sudden the vehicle showed 0% and ended at 2100 approx. I called a man called Madhuker (9845XXXXXX) at 2104 hours he gave me plant tollfree number (1800102XXXX) and i called at 2108 hours. Then they told me that road assistance people will call you soon, one man called kuldeep (8110XXXXXX) called me at 2130 and told that they will inform the road side assistance and ask them to call you, but the road side assistance(towers) called late at 2201 hours and he cut the call in the middle of the conversation and again he called me at 2218 hours.

So I was single woman who waited their one and half hour in the night time they have not provided any help for me. Making a female wait for hours together is not a good matter its a serious issue in itself.

SO PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BUY THIS VEHICLE. ITS CRAP.

Exterior Looks better than old REVA. somewhat heavy looks.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) It is good but all arround looks fiber, no better finishing. space is good, very comfirtable to sit but race and break is very close. not good for heighted driver. need more space.

AC is good. nice mobile APPS, and GPS system(*need improvement in quality of the screen). it's too cheep quality of tuch screen and looks like very older technology. not worth for 30k. Finishing is very bad. it all looks fiber from inside.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox performance is good, Fuel economy means, car should save your money by not investing in the petrol.

*here whatever customer will be able to save in petrol, all money will go to Mahindra, which is very bad. Green Inovation should not mean that customer should pay all the savings to you.

Maintanence is very huge, bettery life is not good and its hell expencive. the money you save in 3 year from petrol will goes in to the Bettery replacement. that does not make sense.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride is good, it can be improved. handling is awesome.

Final Words Not worth for 7 lakh. and not for middle class people. it is for people who are having spare money. There is only One benefit: Environment friendly. No other benefit to the customer in turms of money comfirt and service.

Areas of improvement All area need to be improved, better quality needed in returns of the Money. I would expect cost of this car as 4-5 lack most.

looks good, good AC, good speed meter.Good features(few like mobile app, player,GPS,)Too costly.

I had a Reva non-AC car for 8 years before I upgraded to a 2 door E20, in 2014. Its a fully loaded car which comes at a very high cost. no doubt its a very easy, zippy smart car but comes with more cons than pros!! Please be careful while buying this car. In the first few months itself, the passenger seat was broken during reclining, the AC didnt work when temperature touches 30 degrees. Wires from the speakers were hanging out. Though all these were repaired under warranty, the AC and power steering were a recurring problem. Since it was under warranty, it was all done FOC until recently when the warranty just expired.

The power steering of the car stopped working and the AC as usual did not work well. Though I had repeatedly complained about the AC, the service centre is now asking me to foot the bill for the replacement of the AC unit since the whole circuitry is burned. All the components have to be replaced and it will cost Rs.60000 for the same. AFter paying 7.5 lakhs for the car, and with the warranty just expired, the shocker has come! They are ready to shell some percentage of the cost and rest we have to bear! The amount I have to pay now will be in excess of 23000. Imagine! How can a car company with such a niche customer base and claims itself to be the pioneers of electric cars in India have such sub standard quality of parts that wears out in no time?? This is utterly not acceptable. Their excuse is that since its electric, they cannot guarantee the durabilty of the parts! Then why the heck are they selling  it  at such a high price if its such a cheap car!?

My friend who had bought the car on my recommendation also faced a big problem with the car charging cable. The cable stopped working after 2 years and they had to buy a new cable which was Rs 5,600. Service centre didnt even have a charging cable in stock for 2 weeks. How can aperson drive a car without charging it? Luckily for her, I lent my charging cable to her whenever she needed it. Else, she wouldnt have been able to drive. There is an issue with the power steering as well. It can just stop working making the steering very hard and unable to drive for even a few kms.

Please dont buy this car and get fooled into thinking that its maintenance free. That is just baloney! Sure it saves you time at the petrol station but your car has to go to the service centre every now and then! Dont waste your money on this plastic junk! God save you if you buy one and something goes wrong after 3 years! There is a battery cost of RS.3000 one needs to pay every month for 5 years!

Mahindra needs a big overhaul in the quality of its parts and the assurance it gives to its customers! Calling themselves green, one cannot cheat customers like this!

Very frustrating and disappointing since I switched to E2o out of brand loyalty ! 11years of being with Reva, I am ready to call it quits!

High on price, very low on quality!

easy drive, automatic, great for city drivedischarges quickly, worst AC,high cost of parts

      Exterior

The design speaks for itself. I get enquiries from people around not because it is electric but its due to the design.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Mahindra could have used better plastic quality. The infotainment system is adequate with usb and bluetooth. it also moitors the consumption of battery and the efficiency.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

The electric motor is mounted on the axle so there is minimum energy loss. This car roughly does 100 km with a single charge with full blown AC. However the efficiency and the range is completely variable since it depends on the driver efficiency. Moreso it has regenerative braking therefore any deceleration would amount to generation of electicity!! The autoshift makes it stressfree to drive within the city and there is also no need to shift back to neutral while waiting for a signal.

      Ride Quality & Handling

The suspension is not that great. However does enough to keep you comfortable.

      Final Words

I think this is the most logical option for the city. Why would you burn fossil fuel for the same boring daily routes and chores. However there must me a petrol/diesel car as a backup in your garage. Moreover this is a smartcar and the future of mobility available today.

      Areas of improvement

The plastics, the motor could have little more power with bigger wheels though the given specifications are enough for the city.

Zero emission, zero running cost, excellent for city, automatic transmissionRange should be extended, interior cabin
