Mahindra has really shocked one and all with the introduction of this car. Now it is the company's first EV developed from the ground up. It is called the BE 6E or the B6E. Let's delve into the details and get to know this car a bit better. A casual glance at the BE6 is likely to turn into a stare. Now, this is a car that you've not seen before and you're not really prepared for. It looks radical. It looks aggressive and it certainly looks eye-catching. Now, what I really like is that it has a very angry front end and its LED DRLs certainly add a lot of character to its frontal look. What you also get is the BE identity sitting on its bonnet. And if you look at the bonnet itself, it is rather short for this car and it has a tipped forward sort of stance. What you'll also notice is the air duct out here for better aero efficiency. Over to the sides, you have these Aero inspired EV like 19in wheels, and you have a chunky gloss black body cladding. Now, this gloss black is likely to pick up smaller scratches and will be a bit difficult to maintain. Interestingly, the lower section of the cladding has a rough finish. So, this will help prevent stone chips and prevent it from the smaller scratches. Further, this car has nice and clean lines. It has almost just a single body line on its side and it has the flush type door handles in the front and at the rear you have the door handle embedded in the pillar. On the sides you have this in glow badge which represents the new platform this Mahindra is based on. An interesting detail is that the charging port flap is nicely hidden in the body cladding. One thing that I found a bit strange is that the flap opens backwards. So when you reverse park this car to charge at a fast charger, the flap door might just come in the way of the charging cord. Moving to the back, it has a nice loping coupe- like roof line. And what you also get is this nice dual spoiler, one on the roof and a nice lip spoiler on the boot lid. At the rear, you'll also notice that there is no rear wiper or washer, and that's because you don't need that thanks to the rake of the rear windscreen. What I like is that the boot lid is devoid of excessive cuts or creases, and it spots Mahindra's new identity right in the center. and the BE 6 badge. Both of them are finished in a matte shade. Even the tail lamp setup is very unique. It has a smoked effect.

Mahindra BE6e is a practical SUV. In real real-world scenario, you can expect a 450km range. Road presence is great. The car looks great, especially in stealth black colour. Also, it features Harmon Kardon speakers, which are more premium when compared to Bose speakers.

Honestly, driving the Mahindra BE 6e feels less like driving an SUV and more like piloting a spaceship. The first thing you notice is the stares—it looks straight out of a sci-fi movie with that aggressive front and the sharp coupe roofline. Pictures don't really do it justice; it has serious road presence. Inside, the "cockpit" vibe is genuine. The driver’s seat is separated by a central spine, making you feel snug and completely focused. Performance-wise, it’s a beast. Put it in ‘Race’ mode, and that rear-wheel-drive push pins you back instantly. Hitting 0-100 km/h in under 7 seconds is addictive, and unlike older Mahindras, it actually stays planted around corners. It’s not perfect, though. The suspension is definitely on the stiffer side, so you do feel the bad roads, and the rear headroom is a bit tight for tall friends because of that stylish sloping roof. Verdict: If you want a boring family hauler, look elsewhere. But if you want a thrill ride that looks like a million bucks, the BE 6e is unmatched.

I visited the showroom to have a look. I previously owned a Tata Nexon. Let me tell you that this 4.3m car has the same space as a Tata Nexon. It is honestly really funny how M&M have managed to cram up the Mahindra BE 6, being an electric and having a long wheelbase. I am 6'1 and after adjusting the driver's seat to my position, I have zero knee space behind me. If I set it to my friend's height of 5'8, there's like 3-4cm for me behind. Then there's the headroom room which does not exist for anyone above 6'. The boot is too high-raised raised which I found odd. I guess that's the con of having RWD setup, but that isn't the case with Tesla cars, which I drove. The dashboard is also too long, and since the nose of the car slopes all the way, judging the front of the car is also quite a bit difficult. I guess M&M has really gone all out and developed a sports car. It really isn't a practical car in any way IMO. I do find the looks to be menacing, especially in all black, literally looks like the Batmobile. IMO, the orange and black are the best, but I do see people tending to like the desert sand colour. The interiors do look bad. The seats are like a thicker version of office chairs. There is little ingress room at the rear. The rear windows are so small, they look like small jail windows. The piano black on the console and dashboard is scratch-prone and attracts dust/fingerprints. The pull tabs for opening doors are a terrible idea and implementation. And then there are touch-sensitive buttons on the steering wheel. Really Mahindra? Really??

This car is gorgeous and fabulous, car a nice look. It looks like are future car. I like it, and it boasts a youthful and edgy interior, with a focus on the driver's cockpit and features like a hidden power-saving mode and augmented reality in the heads-up display.
