Exterior DESIGN AND STYLING ARE PRETTY DECENT IT GIVES A EXECUTIVE LOOK. HEADLIGHT WASHER HELPS IN RAINY SEASON AND MOREOVER PARKING SENSORS ARE ALSO USEFULL. BUT I MISS THE REAR PARKING CAMERA.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space is class leading. Even for long journeys you never feel cramped. A/C is quite powerfull within a minutes or two the desired temp. is achieved. Infotainment system is also great with 8 speakers but lacks gps. For playing from usb you need to buy media cable. Lights are also good with automatic adjusting feature.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance is really great, you are always left wanting for more. I read in some reviews 0-100kmph is 8sec and it really feels so. Put the car in sports mode then the beast is unleashed. Reached a top speed of 222kmph. In average driving conditions it returns a FE of 10.5-12kmpl. Gearbox is 7speed DSG automatic which makes it effortless to drive. Cruise controls adds up in long less traffic zones of road. overall it makes the car having a great driving pleasure.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is also good even on uneven road few potholes are filtered in. Handling is good but while making an acute turn it takes a second or two for the car to adapt then it again becomes settled. Maybe, ESC playing its roll. 

Final Words Its the best car in this segment with ultimate performance without any compromise in space, comfort or features. Its 180bhp speaks loud on road.Why spend 40 lacs when you get same performance and more space in 22!

Areas of improvement Provision for GPS and rear parking camera!

Exterior It looks very nice, premium and big. It is the best looking Skoda. I love the LEDs they make it look rich and elegant

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) They are premium, features are nice. It has ample space and rich feel. Back seat arm rest can be opened to check boot.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The petrol is very fast. We were doing high speeds easily, but the steering is very light, I don't like it much ( I want heavy feel), but it is good in traffic. I got 10.3kpl from petrol AT, that is good. The automatic is awesome, but no paddle shifts.

Ride Quality & Handling It is good over speed breakers. Does not touch the ground and goes through potholes easily. there is some body-roll but I am ok.

Final Words Very good car, I like it. Looks nice and big, it is also fast and has lots of featues.

Areas of improvement No paddle shifts.

We requested for test drive of your new Skoda Octavia through your dealer M/s.Gurudev Motors, Madurai. The of the Demo vehicle was shown at 19B/1 Krishanapuram Colony, 2nd Street, Madurai by the Sales Manager on 26th March 2013. The Sales Manager refused to take purchase order from us because we insisted that insurance of our new Skoda Octavia will be done by our Insurance Company, M/s.The New India Assurance Co. Ltd., Dindigul.
We, M/s.M.S.P.Solai Nadar Company, Madurai being a loyal customer of Skoda Auto, have purchased Skoda Octavia in 2004 and Skoda Laura in 2009 and we have done the insurance cover of all our Skoda Vehicle through M/s.The New India Assurance Co.Ltd. Since we have a special package with them for all our LCV's, Cars, premises and stocks, we have been enjoying a special concession rate with our insurance company.

This is disheartening to inform you that the Sales Manager of your Dealer, M/s.Gurudev Motors, Madurai have focused to sell insurance rather than persuade customer like us to buy Skoda Vehicle. Further the Sales Manager has shown negative interest when we informed him that the purchase will be done on our own funds.

This will definitely spoil the image of Skoda if your dealer and his team humiliate loyal customers like us not to buy new Skoda Octavia.

Exterior Exterior is good except the back part i.e rear look of the car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfort, space and features are good too.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Well the Dsg gearbox has always been best compared to any other and the economy is also good.

Ride Quality & Handling This is really something which was unexpected by me, because I was waiting for this car 's launching since many months nearly 5-7 but after I drove it I was not satisfied as the steering is too light and also the riding quality seems to be very light as compared to jetta superb passat, the thing is that we donot feel that we are driving some luxurious sedan.

Final Words Because of 1 reason I have decided not to buy octavia.

Areas of improvement The should make it a bit heavy like the 2nd generation octavia , the feeling which we got in that car was far better than the new octavia.

 Looks Excellent. Its huge in both length and width.
2 downsides: 1) The back looks like Rapid 2) The current rapid will be discontinued soon and will be replaced by the new european rapid which will look just like the octavia.
So it will be very difficult to distinguish between the 2 cars although u may end up spending 10L more on the Octavia

 Goes vrooooom after 2500 rpm. No engine noise. Can't make out if its a diesel. Giving me abt 14 k/l in Delhi traffic. Very smooth shifts. Mine is MT.

Final Words

 Love it. Just worried abt the after sales service. Bought ICICI Lombard extended warranty so the car is covered for 4 years. Lets see how it goes.

Areas of improvement  

 Don't know yet but have heard a lot abt their after sales issues. This is one area where maruti, honda, toyota lead. If skoda can handle after sales properly, they surely have a good future in India.

 

What's not to likeCar stalls as low speed, bumper to bumper traffic

Exterior Good look than in picture, feel the royality. Skoda look resemble like rapid and this is also common in luxury mercedes S Class Look similar to new C class.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Feel Richness and Lack of Paddle shift & Sun Screen, Enough Leg room and space for three to sit comfortable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good.

Ride Quality & Handling Super drive and feel safe.

Final Words Same opinion as recomended in powerdrift to purchase.

Areas of improvement Skoda to improve the waiting period for the Octavia and without any condition on dealers for Kerala State.

Skoda can improve some exterior look by chrome (eg. Door Handle, Window Side & From Grill).

 I have driven it a number of times on Yamuna Expressway taking speed to 222km/hr but handling after 160km/hr requires firm steering grip. The car can move from 0-200km/hr in just 34 seconds provided the oil temperature is over 100 degree centigrade.

Ride Quality & Handling

 TSI plus DSG is simply great. Just remove your foot from the brake padel and see yourself how smoothly it moves.  On Expressway no car comes closer to its performance. Kick the accelarator at 80km/hr and see the turbo effect the car moves ahead like a rocket. No one can beat it in performance. At about Engine revs 3000 the speed it attains is over 145km/hr.

Final Words

If you are familiar with first generation Octavia then try this third generation Octavia its a different level altogather. If you like this car go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Areas of improvement  

 Adaptive cruise control, lane assist and drive select. These features are available in international model so why not in India.

 

Space and comfortSome features available in international models are absent.

This is the first time in decades that the car is withthe Service center for 10 days and even after 10 days there is no surity of when it will be delivered .There were issues with software and creen but got resolved but one bump and the alignment got disturbed and service center was unable to find out for 4 days and even after more than 10 days ,I do not know when I will get my car back.I contacted Skoda Customer care also and requested them to ensure that I get my car back quickly but besides lip service,nothing seems to have been done.The Local Dealer did not have the parts and even after 10 days says they are waiting.This is the first time that visits -almost every day- have to be made to try and get the car back .I have had experiecnes of many other brands in last few decades but this is the worst experience. The car does not seem suited for rough Indian Roads. You can not affors to buy Octavia if you own onky one car.
