What you see in the picture is a digitally rendered image of the Ford Fiesta RS. Ford has already claimed that it has no intention of building the Fiesta RS, but this illustration shows us what may be in store for us in case the brand changes its mind.
Thanks to the same 'Nitrous Blue' paint shade seen on the Focus RS, the RS body styling makes the Fiesta look quite aggressive. In all likeliness, the Fiesta RS could be at the receiving end of a four cylinder motor to make it stand out from the current range topper - the three cylinder Fiesta ST version. Ford has already unveiled the Fiesta ST but the car won't make it to the production line until early 2018. It uses a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 197bhp and 290Nm of torque. That's enough power for it to despatch the 100kmph barrier in 6.7sec.
The previous generation Fiesta had waited for long to get the RS treatment but sadly, the car never made it to the market. Infact, the Focus RS models got introduced only towards the end of the car's life cycle. Similarily, if the Fiesta RS is envisioned, it could only make it sometime in the early 2020's (towards the end of its cyle), since the new Fiesta has just hit the market.
