5 USPs of the Ciaz:

• The Ciaz was known for offering the largest cabin space in the segment. It is comfortable, backed with the light-coloured upholstery that made the Ciaz’s cabin feel cavernous.
• With the relaxed nature of the engine and gearbox, the Ciaz is a no-fuss car to drive. Its four-cylinder petrol engine is refined and feels at home, be it in the city commutes or doing highway speeds. It is also quite fuel efficient, like all Marutis.
• In terms of features, you do get a decently long list. You get rear AC vents, automatic AC and headlamps, keyless entry, cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, front centre armrest with a utility box, and a rear centre armrest with cup holders. There’s also a new Maruti touchscreen along with smartphone integration.

Negatives:

• With a single-engine option, Maruti does not offer a wide choice of options for buyers. There’s no diesel, turbo-petrol, or hybrid powertrain that the competition offers.
• With close to a decade in this generation, the Ciaz needs a generation change. It also needs to match the new standards expected from a C-Segment, especially with the high demands the C-SUV already asks for at the same price point.

• The safety features you get in the Ciaz include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder for driver and passenger, and a speed alert system.
• However, do note that this car has not been crash tested and we do not have the crash test scores.

• With a decade-old cabin layout, the Ciaz is still one of the few cars on sale in India that offers the good old analogue feel. You can see proper analogue needs on the driver’s display and wooden inserts on the dashboard.
• The space has been one of the stronger suites of Ciaz. With large and comfortable seats, the car offers a coherent ambience inside the cabin.
• Sure, there are hard plastics throughout the cabin but they do not feel cheap.
• In tech terms, the Ciaz continues to offer Maruti’s popular SmartPlay infotainment system that gets both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Even the sound quality from the audio system is just about average.
• As for the ergonomics, it’s easy to find the ideal driving position with the big and supportive seats that offer good lateral support.
• The Ciaz has always been impressive when we talk about rear seat space and comfort and it is easy to appreciate the ample amount of legroom and headroom.
• If you are looking to be chauffeured around, the legroom with the front passenger seat pushed forward is simply astonishing.
