hi all, good to post a review. i own my GLS five months ago. most of the time i did city drive but dint get much mileage. but when i went on long drive with constant speed(below 90 km/hr) i got amazing mileage around 18 km/lt. luxurious for four inside, but comfortable for five. ride quality is good except on potholes if you drive below 20km/hr fine if any thing above it would be bumpy ride and things are every where inside. its really frightening at corners on high speed, due to bodyroll.fuel economy, space, comfort.boring dash, old model interiors need to improve.

Exterior: well i just got my gl-lpg 2 months back and i  think it would perfectly suit for all my requirements.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): The two front seats are very spacious even they can be adjusted of course, and now this version ha the rear seats lifted upwards which would help those bies who are taller.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: coming to engine it ofcoure reaches hyundai s standards and no doubt about it,fuel economy is excellent with lpg i got 12kmpl with a/c and 15 kmpl with petrol switching between them is much easier.whoever wants a daily ride or has much to go on is better to go with LPG as LPG is only 34rs/ltr and is much better compared stunning rates of petrol.

Ride Quality & Handling: riding experience is marvellous and u can go on very longer rides at no effort thats for sure.

Final Words: but hyndai has not given upto the cost its maintainance economy exterior everythin is good but not as to reach its cost of 4.2 lacs(gl-lpg).i10 interior is obsolete and gorgeous compared xing.but this LPG feature is the only one one could choose why santro xing.even u can make ur car LPG fitted at any private engineer but its not safe for ur engine.but this one is company fitted and has nothing to be pointed out.so u could definitely go with this if u r planning to do so and one thing is its qiuite better than wagon-r duo.cheers.

good fuel economy with lpg, good look with the big head lamps specialy dark grey one(mine)too costly for the featurs that hyundai has given for this compared to i10

The Santro Xing with its new flame surfaces has an instant visual appeal, though your can see that a 'next generation' is definitely due. Interiors are simple but neat. What's great about this little car is that someone almost 6 feet is usually quite comfy in the drivers seat.

Where the Santro scores high is pickup. It gives acceptable stability as your rev your way to sixty cutting through traffic. This little car has a mighty heart that leaves other 'poorly driven' big machines wonder what hit them.

Maneuverability of the Santro is definitely a plus though at higher speeds I've often noticed a skid. Confidence in sharp turning, though not as good as a Honda, is definitely not as bad as the Indica  or even Indigo. It skids but you can always use wider tires to help. The power steering is heavier than you expect most to be but something you can get used to. Though I've heard Santro gearboxes are smooth, my experience is to the contrary and a few other owners concur. Also the gearshift vibrates more than it should for a petrol car.

Overall a good buy any day, a car that has enough power for the city and great mileage for the wallet.  Add its low maintenance costs and it's an irresistible proposition.
Good fuel economy, good powerHeavy steering

Hi All,This is my first car bought in April 08 and and very satisfied with the performance. To be specific and precise as one shifts from 2 to 4 wheeler the bottom line concern is the mantaince and fuel economy. Santro GLS justifies both.Though AC takes time to cool  at peak delhi temperature but that something we know even 1800cc vechile takes time.  I purchased the car from Hundai Motor Plaza , Delhi , the executive are very cordial and helpful specially Sandeep . Car service is something I need to see further and will write down as I experience  but till now the response has been good.

Santro Guys please renovate the interiors to get more market share in this segment. Ravi

Good fuel economy, great turning radius, easy to manuvour and good engine responseInteriors could be made more attractive especially the milometer and steering

I bought a 2nd hand Santro Xing XP, Oct 2004 model, 26000 km done for Rs. 1.8 lks in Kolkata from a dealer named United Auto India near Tangra (Hamidul - 9831010848)

I got a new Sony Xplod system, new seat covers & steering cover along with the car.

Regarding the performance of the car, I would state that its a great car considering a first time car buyer. I drive around 45-50 km daily and therefore needed a car with good mileage. Most of my driving is highway driving. After some deliberation & checking with the local dealers, I got thie car through this dealer through one of my company contacts. I have driven it for almost 1000 km by now and the car is giving me an avg. mileage of 13.5-14.5 km/ltr (without AC on).

Till now, there hasn't been any problem with the car and it has been a smooth journey for me. Only once I needed to get the car checked for a sound that was coming from the AC and the dealer got that corrected without any charges.

I would certainly recommend this car to any newcomer who is looking for a car in the 1.1ltr. engine size.

Nice handling, good pickup (without AC on)Fan starts too often & stays on for longer than other similar cars

Hi, I own this Santro since past 2 years. It is a great performer and one can surely enjoy the drive as engine performance is great and steering response is also cute.

Most irritating problem for me is the suspensions, especially when car is not loaded. While front suspension are somewhat ok, rear suspension are really bad. In total, suspensions are bad and I could feel almost all smaller and bigger bumps from the road. This is VERY BAD and not expected after shelling out so much money on this car. I could even say that Alto suspensions are way better than this car.

I want to know is there any way to improve suspention performance of this car, by altering any settings (though not compromising with safety).

Driving ease, style,VERY BAD suspensions, not a great mileage, discomfort to driver ankle

      Exterior Good looking, good design.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nice interior - good comfort - enough space for 4 people in it's class.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent performance, gear shifting is easy, good fuel effiency in the city ride as well as in the high ways. peace of mind.

Ride Quality & Handling Easy driving - easy to clean- Performance in the high ways need to be appreciated.

Final Words Water leaking near steering wheel. I went several time to service centre. Each time with different answer. After all my effect Problem not yet rectified. Over all good performance this issue makes me uncomforable and unsatisfication with my brand new car. The complaint registered on the third day purchase. I am unhappy about my new car.

Areas of improvement Service to be improved. i am not well pleased with the service centre. If the customer brought a car to service after the service he has to go with the peace of mind. Please improve the service station performance.

good fuel economy, good pick upwater leaking in my brand new car

After a thorough research, I went for santro Xing XO model in Dec'2006. I got a good offer of Rs.40,000/- on the car in Visakhapatnam and straight away went for it without any two minds.

True, I am satisfied with the car in all the aspects of performnace and no second opinion about it.

The main strong points of the car are the comfort in getting in/out of the car particularly for elderly people, the very powerful AC which cools the car in no time.

Coming to the much discussed mileage, i don't have any compliants about the car, as i am getting an average of 15.5-16 Km/lit. On Highway 18Km/lit and in city driving 14 Kkm/lit with AC ON. What more can you demand?

Keep up the good show Hyundai motors and long live Santro.

Fantastic family car. I was using this since last 10yrs onwards. One Negative thing is that the spare parts and service costs are much higher (Done only showroom services). Vehicle touching 1.8L kms and still feeling like a black horse.
