Exterior

With Sporty looks, its a good head-turner in the City. Some fellow poeple even asked me whether its a 7 Seater?! LOL :p Thanks to its Crossfade monoform design which i love the most. It really Stands out in the Crowd!! Most C Segment Mid-size Sedens looks dwarf in front of its Massive and Impeccable Looks.  

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Opulace of Comfort once you get inside the JaZz.. You feel u r in a Big car and not a hatchback at all! Honda is True to its words.."MAN MAXIMUM, MACHINE MINIMUM', Which liberates Acres of Space inside the cabin. Even in the Top-spec Complete Black trim, It doesnt feel Cramp at all. Kudos to Honda Engineers!! Comfort is also good during long journeys. 

Featurs.. Well Although it comes with great new features like the Touch AC panel, Honda Connect(optional),etc., along with Electically foldable ORVMs(Very useful in day to day drive!), It Misses out few basic features, the most criticised one, "Engine Start  Button!". C'mon Honda even the Hyundai i10 comes with it. The Other one is the rear AC vents. The DRLs are also missing which should have been there, but you can get it fitted after market though.   Talking about the Practcality front, The JAzz is Just Unbeatable!! You get 12 cubby holes/ cup holders which is Extremely handy when u r driving out with full house. The one placed right in front of the AC went cools the water bottle effeciently, which is very handy in these Summers! Great work by Honda.. :)

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

  I have test driven all the Engine options, i.e, 1.2(P)M, 1.2(P)CVT and 1.5(D)M. The Dieasel has a Great punch. The Petrol Manual Lacks the Punch at Low RPMs but as soon as u reach a decent speed, its fun to drive. Its Impecabble at top speeds!!. Very Stable and Solid like a Merc.. Yes u read it right.. LIKE A MERC!! The CVT although a pleasure in city traffic, but not fun to drive at all, even the Paddle shifts doesnt justify the Driving pleasure. Plus the CVT doesnt come with the VX top end variant, so u miss out Honda's Magic.. the Magic Seats, besides, the Touch screen AVN and the Rear tailgate Spoiler too as well.

Ride Quality & Handling

 Handling is very comfortable.. The Sterring is Light in city and weighs up perfectly once u reach a descent speed. Ride quality is just Superb which one would not expect from a compact car. Its more comfortable than its elder sibling, the Honda City, which has a rough ride comparatively. Yes, you could notice this easliy if u drive both these cars back to back! 

Final Words

 I Saw the 1st gen Honda JaZz first time in an AutoExpo in Mumbai some years back. I was bowled by its Massive looks and Sheer Presence. That moment itseif i Knew that this is going to be my First car.. as it was Love @ first site with the JAzz.. :). I felt Insane though when i heard the Price. It was 9Lacs.. :O. I thought 9 Lacs for a Small CAr??!!! Its CRaZYYyy!!!!! But as the time passed, i realized its True Potential. Its Not for all, Its just for a Niche segment of buyers like u and me who go all the way to pay that extra buck for a Unique Car thats versatile in every front. Honda says it well...... NOTHING ELSE IS A JAZZ... :)

Areas of improvement  

Dear Honda, Please Note if possible:

1) Low end Punch in 1.2L i-Vtec Engine is reaaly lacking. Please bring 1.5L i-Vtec for Jazz in India. Else atleast make a 1.2L Turbo Charged Engine to give that low end Punch required in City commute. 

2) CVT should come with Top end VX variant. I understand that that will further increase the cost but dear Honda, Today Indian buyers are ready to pay dat extra buck if that many Features are available. So please give us that option as well.

3) The Rivals of the Jazz Comes equipped with Rear AC vents, Engine Start Button, DRLs.. So JAzz Must have these Popular Featurs as well. Again, I know this will further increase the Cost, but At least give it in the Top End variant!

4) Proper Marketing and Availability of HONDA CONNECT. People are not aware about its Immense Benefits. Also, its not even Available with dealers and these dealers not seem to serious about this High tech Device, as they are not even interested to take orders for it! 

Suggestion to Honda

Please Include Blood Red Colour for Jazz to Adorn its Sporty looks as it was Available in Previous Generation JAzz.

I feel sorry to bring to notice of public, the hidden fact about supplied spare part with new launch Honda Jazz- 2016 top model for which Honda has never mentioned about this limitation of Jazz car in any of its brochures/documents/advertisement.

 I have purchased a top model of Honda Jazz VX-MT ( i-VTECH ) Petrol car from Joshi Automotives Pvt. Ltd. -Harmony Honda, #67, Ind. Area, Phase-2, Chandigarh manufactured in January 2016. (Chassis No. MAKGK773AG4003448, Engine No. L12B41023462). 

During delivery of car I was told that the spare tyre is of different make MRF whereas all four fitted tyres are of “Good Year” make. The delivery checklist states that the “Make of spare tyre may be of different from make of the other 4 tyres”. But it was also found that the spare tyre is of small rim size-14 inch and with different size tyre (175/70 R14) whereas all other tyres are of size 15 inch (175/65 R15)
The dealer explained that small size spare wheel (14') is supplied as an emergency wheel and reason given is to visually remind you to get the damaged tyre repaired at the first opportunity.
I am not convinced with the given logic as the spare tyre is always used for periodic rotation with other tyres. I have never seen such small spare tyre as supplied by Honda for this model and didn’t find any reason why only for Jazz car this type small tyre is supplied.

The dealer was unable to show me in writing anywhere that for the top model of Jazz the spare tyre supplied with the car may be of different size/ specification as Honda has hidden this feature from public whereas all other small features are highlighted. Dealer’s sales persons has expressed inability to change the tyre. This type of hidden specification was never expected from such a reputed company-Honda  This type of hidden limitation shall be shared with public so that people like me may know this model limitation in advance before planning to buy this model.  
Company should replace the spare tyre with original size tyre and rim to promote its sales.

 Look is immaculate and stylish.The body is aerodynamic  and the metallic finishing is superb.

 Very spacious, even tall persons can comfortably travel both in front and rear seats.The  latest CVT gives full thrill of automatic.When driving I feel like handling a large vehicle.The visiblity is excellent.The 364 litre boot can carry almost all the luggage for a long trip or Airport pickup.

 Very responsive, and powerful compared to the capacity.The CVT automatic system gives a perfect and smooth ride. 

Ride Quality & Handling

 Excellent.Took delivery on 25th of July.Using other two Brands, but this vehicle gives really extra ordinary  riding comfort and driving experience. The small pot holes on roads doesnot feel when you drive this car.The dash board especially the various meters are really eye pleasing .The Jazz has a tall boy feeling. Final Words.I am really proud  to be an early owner of Honda JAZZ CVT.

 

Areas of improvement  

 Next time expect a variant with higher CC  petrol engine, above 1300 CC, with 16" wheel.Split seat facility shouldnot be restricted to top variant.

Overall a good package. I have owned it for around 2 months now. Ride quality is good and the car is very smooth to drive. You wouldn't even know if the engine is running or not. Interiors are similar to Honda City and have a metallic finish. The car is really spacious. Ample leg room for rear assengers. The boot space is big enough to accommodate at least 3 large pieces of luggage. Security features are also good.

However, I feel that there is trouble with the car's air conditioner as it is not able to maintain the car's cabin temperature. When I operate the air-conditioner at the lowest possible, it still is not able to maintain the car temperature even at 25 degrees. It feels as if someone has fitted a 1 tonne AC in a room which requires a 2 tonne AC. The gear shifting is also a bit stiff when the car is moving, especially the first and the second. DO check these out before purchasing.

I bought this beauty on 8th of Aug on 60th Birthday of my Papa and he was pleasantly surprised to see this. It was  unmatchable feeling. Coming to the review. 

I always had inclination towards Honda as a brand though Hyundai , toyota and others are equally good. So despite missing out on quiet few features which I have mentioned in Areas of improvement I wnet with Hoonda Jazz.

I have run almost 700 Km before putting in this review. This car is like Mini Honda City.

 Main reason I bought this car is beacause of its space and comfort and premium dashboard. Thankfully its all black dashboard . look and feel wise  Its City from within.Even better

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 lacks power at first gear ,  but then it gives you Fuel economy which no other gives. I got 19 km/l in city 

Ride Quality & Handling

 Very good handling. Stearing is very light for city driving conditions.Has all security features required which is great plus

Must buy if you are looking for a spacious , fuel efficient and comfortble car .

Bursted the tryres twice!!!

 

The car is new honda Jazz which was purchased on Jan 2016 from kochi, kerala. very bad experice when we went for a long journey.

the tryres were changed and again after a month other tyre bursted. both the burst happended while driving slow, though it happend after a long run of 175, but bursting tyre is not justifiable.

The second tyre bursted when the car fell into a pothole.

Do not know we have two more tryre in the same lot.

very bad service recieved from the centre as well, as they did not accept that the same is their quality problem, whereas they forced the blame on us and tyre no warenty it seems.

They were not empathatic and just hell cared about the feedbac and review. Poor Service. Did a mistake in a big decision of puchase of car.

Feel of selling the vehicle!!

So people who are planning to buy the car please make sure that you have the extra tyres with you.

Also the spare tyre is not the same size of the aloy tyre. which was not explained before at the time of purchase.

 

All Except TyreTyre

Exterior Very nice and a head turner.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent, it is like a sedan inside with so much space that we forget that it is originally a hatchback. Good design by Honda Engineers.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Smooth Automatic, No gear changes required, just put the accelerator on and it moves, forget clutch, there is no clutch there.Can not make out whether the Engine is running or not.

Final Words If you want a reliable good looking automatic petrol car, Honda Jazz is for you. Remember that Jazz is a very popular model abroad and is one of the most successful car in this space. There are many negative campaigning done who never have driven this car but car comes , car goes Honda remains.

Areas of improvement This is a complete package, however, Honda can add 1500 CC Petrol Engine later.

Extremely Good looking, Petrol CVT Automatic is the best , silky smooth driving, Blue panel displayNothing except magic seats should have been given in this model.

Ride Quality & Handling Can Improve

Final Words AC cooling is not upto the mark with Indian Climate, Gear Shift is rough, While changing gears speed of AC Blower reduces / fluctuate. Horn sound changes with gear shift / Sound quality of Music System changes with Gear Shift / Gear Shift is not smooth.

Areas of improvement Constant current flow for gadgets on board right now if the fan of radiator starts, the blower speed reduces automatically.  Better Gear Shift, as shifting 3rd gear from 2nd is not smooth. Better AC for cooling is required as cabin of car is huge and AC installed is not adiquate for good cooling, A respectable horn installation is a must because if we press horn for 30 seconds or so the sound of horn diminishes, its just like old scooter's horn.  This is my new car purchased in August 2015 and basic issues as mentioned above are never expected from a brand like Honda.

My review is for the model Jazz S 1.2L i-VTEC CVT (this variant is not available for selection) which I brought from a famous dealer in Porur (Chennai) on Nov 28 2015.

Exterior Extremely good, catchy look. It makes anyone to turn back once more. The body is quite reliable.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)Reasonably good Music system, with USB and AUX, the speakers are good if not the best. The dashboard is not very clumsy (filled with buttons). Its very simple, plain and easy to operate while driving. Thats what I prefer. Spacious front and rear leg space and boot space is really good. Ground clearance is as per HONDA standard which 165. No complaints.

Comfortable for the driver as gives him a smooth hazzle free (clutch free) driving in extreme traffic conditions in the city. Sport lovers & youth may not like it but drivers who are above 35 yrs plus and wants a cautious and smooth 80 kms plus driving on highways would love it. Overall I would rate this as the most spacious hatchback availble in the market today and pleasant driving experience.

The only minus which I observed is that the car may not somtimes give you the cushion on bumby & rough roads. I heard from a couple of people who sat on the rear seats of my car saying this. On first service, I did mention this and they said the dhak dhak sound (when driven over a pit or hole) could be due to the stepnee not screwed properly. They tightened it but sometimes the sound still comes when driven over a pit or a hole. Better to slow down completely and then ride over them or avoid them by carefully changing the lanes. Afterall its not an SUV or a SEDAN Ha ha.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good Nice pickup (can reach 100 in 10 secs). The Engine sometimes roars when you press hard the throttle for accelaration to gain more power for overtaking. Again remember this is not an MT. The CVT does the gear changes for you. Your job is to look on the road and control your steering wheel. The roaring sound is quite normal in a CVT car and I am not worried about it anymore. This is what many people fear about but I tell you..absolutely no worry.

Mileage is 12-13 kms (petrol) on city and upto 15 on highways, which I think cannot be complained. Remember that this is a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission which is different from the legacy Automatic Transmission). This is a technology revolution adopted by Honda and other International Car Manufacturers.

Personally I feel that CVT technology might become the talk of the city in near future and HONDA does not want to stay behind. This is a wise marketing strategy from HONDA.

Ride Quality & Handling Handling is extremely easy and I have mentioned above. Ideal car for people with disability on their left leg, people who lived in foreign land driving an automatic version and have now come back to India, married women and for the guys who prefer cautious, steady driving.

Areas of improvement Although the JAZZ has been re-introduced in the Indian Market in mid 2015 with a revised price tag, I feel that the price can still be made more competitive to cope up with other established rivals.

Can add more features in the S CVT variant which are ONLY available in the higher VX and VCVT variants.
