Think India…think Ambassador cars. This is one car that all foreign nationals love to drive when they visit India. Most of them love its bulbous shape while others do not want to miss out on the old world charm that the car exudes and return to their countries without being blessed with the opportunity of having driven one. The Ambassador car was launched by Hindustan Motors in India in 1957. The car, a four-door sedan, based on Morris Oxford model, is perfectly suitable for the harsh Indian roads. Although the automobile doesn't flaunt stylish design, as seen in other vehicles in its class, which appeals the present day consumers, it is much preferred by those Indian consumers who look for sturdiness in their vehicle. The car is primarily used by the politicians in India. Hindustan Motors currently manufactures Ambassador in its Uttarpara facility near Kolkata, West Bengal.Exterior
