Exterior Car looks good with exterior found with other cars Ground clearance lower.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) If need front boot space good, then the back sate passenger may not get proper lag room as it has to be.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox There is noting special which we can appreciate about this car to campier with other Indian car on same segment.

If going to buy Swift / I-20 – I think that will be the best option. Fuel economy is not in this car as the performance comes while driving the pick up is not good, Noise for the diesel engine comes inside the car . I can say to pay for this car even Indigo cs is better car with cheaper than this car with same pick up.

Dealer network is one in the city which you have to go long way and spent more time for small problems. Company has to have the Mobil vehicle for small thing can be solve at owners house with in the warrantee period.

Ride Quality & Handling I have just bought on Jan 19^th I can not say much about the handling but fells will be expensive than the other brands for Indian roads. For more can call me- 91-9414255973. Space for the dike luggage is very good in this car. 

Final Words I advise to go for Swift / I20 or other brands can offer more power less noise and dealer service network near to your residence or office. Big city they have to open more service stations in different aria of the city approach.

Areas of improvement Power for pick up- few things – If Customer wants to add fog lamps Stereo, back power window dealer says, if fitted from out side the whole warrantee for the car will be  expired, Off course the fitment done out side due to the high price  at dealer can not be comes but what is the point if fitted it out side the whole warrantee can not be taken by the dealers got the car price.

Exterior The more you look at it, the more you love it. The lights, grill, the sharky skirt at the bottom of the front bumper. Overall the car speaks volumes in terms of class & quality. I've had this car since Oct 10 and still haven't got bored of looking at it. It stands out amongst the other car options available here that look like mutated lumps(swift) or petrified(ritz) or too sleepy to move(uva). The polo has presence!! park it next to any other car in its segment & you will almost see the other car cowering.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) QUALITY!!! downside though is that VW only has a wiring setup for 2 speakers in the front door(they must have thought senior citizens were their only target market) and the dealer will try conning you by saying only kenwood systems work on the polo & if you try adding more speakers warranty will be affected. Thankfully a friend of mine in the car accessories business helped out; I've got a philips head unit(with blue tooth, USB, etc) six speaker setup, kenwood amp & CV 12" sub & it sounds GOOD! The boot was designed produce bass i think :).

*In response to comments seen on this site;The rear seats get cramped only if a giraffe is behind the wheel. when the front seats are in normal driving position there's a lot of room at the back. The position of the rear seat is also offset from the rear wheels(as opposed to most other hatchbacks, where you would be sitting pretty much on top of the rear axle*position) which makes for a really smooth ride even over rough terrain.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Getting power out of the engine takes a little practice-the car flies if you hold it around 3000-5500 rpm. If you try this in first gear you'd end up with whiplash ;) Fuel economy I haven't figured out properly as yet; one time i got about 14 kmpl in town. On the highways I'm having too much of a good time to notice ;P

For the naysayers who say the engine's noisy-SUCK ON IT!!! THIS IS WHAT A REAL CAR SOUNDS LIKE!! rev it & it growls.  Not like the squeaky, whiny little matchboxes you'll want to drive around that sound like cats getting sodomised when u rev.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Tested other cars in this segment- NONE compare(even the fabia that runs of the same chassis, engine, etc etc sucks in comparison).

 

Final Words You do end up paying more(quite a lot more actually)& waiting quite a bit more(managed to get mine after 2 months of harrassing the dealer AND paying in cash) but it's all worht it in the end. I'm in love again :).

 

Areas of improvement The way dealers handle customers. VW sales guys need to be put through IQ tests before they're given their posts. 

Delivery-my car interiors were dirty when they handed it over. I had to complain & wait another hour for them to clean it & the cleaning guy asked me for money thereafter :P

Accessories- other than the mudflaps don't buy anything from the dealer. Range is small, prices are large.

DON'T FALL FOR THE 'ONLY KENWOOD SYSTEMS FIT VW' by inverting 2 points in the housing pin, any system fits directly to the polo's music system jack. You will have to run extra cables for your rear speakers but a good installation chap will do it without touching/ cutting anything else.

My car should have come with ABS & airbags-crummy of VW not to give at least these two safety features on a car this good.

To all you people thinking about buying a polo i say DO IT. You may see other cars with more features & gadgets around you, but take time to look at the drivers in those cars...they'll all be drooling over yours :D

Exterior Excellent exteriors. Looks are great. There is no doubt abt it.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Front seats are good. Will get disappointed to see the space and seat comfortability at the rear seat. You will feel like clamped when seated in the rear seat. Too bad.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Its same as any other car. Not much difference compared to other hactchbacks.

Final Words I booked the car Petrol version in September, 2010. Didn't get the delivery even after 5 months. The dealer Swami Motors alias Genuss Motors Chandigarh keeps saying your car is coming in few weeks. And in Feb they said, no idea when the car will be delivered. No response when u call them. They don't bother to pic ur phone call. They say its not there responsibility if the car is not coming from VW. They even don't attend u if u went to there showroom as u have already booked the car. I have to wait around 45mins to 1 hr everytime I went there. Finally I have to cancel the booking. Even then they make me wait for 45 min - 1 hr to give me my 50000/- check.

I have called the VW customer care also but even after registering the complaint no one from the VW contacted back. The approach of the VW is even poor. This is there attitude towards there customers. I advise to for some other car. There are many in the market and better value for money cars. Think before booking Polo.

Even after reading u decide to go for Polo then first check the dealer's reputation because thats also matters as u have to deal with dealer not with the company itself.

Purchased Polo highline two years back but post sales service is really bad particularly in Kolkata. They promise and advertise good things but never fulfil that. Their service center is in a horrible location where you will not find any vehicle to get back to main street. I was at their service center and heard other customers also and they all have the same problems and complaints. I was surprise to see they rate themselves as five (5)  stars and when when I questioned their supervisor he mentioned it just happended today but my previous service experience was also the same at the same location.

Volkswagen Brand Name may be good but their product is not as good in India and post sales service is horrible, maybe they do not have any competition and they don't care how harrassed the customer is. I am sure if their service continues like this future does not look good for Volkawagen in Kolkata.

I normally do not write reviews but really bad experience with their service for third time prompted me to write this and I would warn people to think twice before buying a Volkswagen

Amazing! I just fall in love when I look at it. I go to the showroom every week and look at it for 30 mins. Waiting for my car to deliver in august 2010.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Interior is decent. The seats are light weight and good material. Internal plastic and fabric is superior quality. Overall, better than most of the cars in this segment. I liked Fabia interior the most in all hatchbacks, not even I20 stand in front of Fabia. Polo interior is decent and feels cozy.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

It delivers same power with 3 cylinders that other cars achieve with 4 cylinders. Thats called German Engineering! Fuel economy is quite nice, 15 kmpl is something you dont expect with such a big car.

Ride Quality & Handling

Amazing! (third time) you feel so nice sitting inside this. First feeling is you sitting inside Volkswagen for just 6 lacs rupees (kidding). The car is so smooth and easy to drive with both combination of power stearing you dont have to apply any power while turning and changing gears. I cant compare suspension of this car with any other car. Even if you turn this car at 70 km speed, nothing happens. Other cars will develop cracks with this behavior. You can take this car on really bad road at 80 km speed, nothing happens. I bet you have slow down every hatchback in india for bad roads. I have driven it at 130 kmph speed, and there is no shaking or wobbeling.

Final Words

POLO is a sports car(not a sports version, a real sports car). it is made of heavy steel. Every part of the polo is heavy and very strong.

My final words are, dont compare with any indian car. If you wish to compare, go ahead to compare with Merc, BMW, Audi. No japanese, korean or american cars please, these manufacturers are not doing good in their home country. People dream about german cars all over the world.

l like the exterior, but when comes to monetary visualization is concerned, car is not worth Rs 7.55 on road, Delhi

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Material used is very good, but again lacks the kind of look expected from VW, rest finishing is fabulous.

Space: Not suitable for people with very long legs, although it has completely adjustable steering as well as the seat.

Comfort: The Ride quality is better than the New Honda city which i am using for past one year, ride quality i am referring to suspension system that is mind blowing, while test drive i tested all the jerks available on the road and car can handle almost all of them 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Engine Performance: Good power and again the car is so stable that when i was accelerating the car i felt there is no pick-up, but when i saw the speedometer i was at 100km/h . The grip quality is again very good.

Fuel Economy: Now this will be the main deciding factor for this car, I don't know about the mileage of the Diesel version and this will the deciding factor for me. I have to choose a car that should have a great quality ride with excellent average, and if this car can deliver mileage around 17-18Kmpl i will definitely buy this one.

As already said : Better than Honda City.

If you are looking for Brand name with superior quality and fabulous ride quality go for this car after all its the German Engineering.

My only point of concern is its average as i have a daily drive of 70Km in Delhi City, so for me Superior Ride quality and the mileage are the two deciding factors. I know this car has great ride quality so I am just waiting for the average,

I don't have the information on After sales service, but this is fact for sure that this German car will not say anything to you for the 1st  four years.

P.S. If any one has idea about Volkswagen after sales service and mileage of the diesel version pls share it.

Bought car on 10th may 2011 polo 1.6 petrol on 5th june 2011 while coming from pune on Khandala Ghat car stop while running it didnt start at all, I was lucky there was no traffice since it was sunday morning and I was with my family "god bless" nothing wrong happen. After 1 day KS motors service center  Nerul (new bombay) people call they  said we checking we let u know tommorow, they call next day to  me and said wire below battery rat have eaten I told them not possible there is not rate in our society not possible, then I told them to click the photos of wire which rat have eaten and  show me when I come to pick up the car, when I went there I ask them they said we forgot to click. I have no choice I pick up the car came home.

There road service is very very bad they know I have a 2 years old kid with me they didn't offer me a car to come home to mumbai or any near place. When I bought the car dealer told us they have the  facility to pay for a car or arrange for a car etc. Very bad experience. So don't go for brand name go for facility n saftey of ur family.

Exterior The built quality is amazing with the tough body.The paint quality and finish feels very classy.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The panels, dashboard, gears, door trims, steering is simply top notch. The focus is on quality and the feel of a sedan unlike other cars with low cost interiors and lots of glitz which eventually looses its sheen. The display is superb! should check it out at night!

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The gear shift short and smooth so its great even on a slow traffic. Fantastic response and fast pickup. About the fuel economy, roughly for the start I am getting around 10kmpl in the city but according to other users the fuel economy goes upto 13kmpl in the city and 16kmpl on the highway after few more running kilmeters and that in the start its less.

 

Ride Quality & Handling I should give a special mention to the quality of insulation which makes the interiors very silent. The suspension is terrific and would say its better than even the Honda city Baleno etc, it has to be experienced to believe it.

 

Final Words I got my pepper grey comfortline delivered on 16 october, and I have started liking it much more than i did during the short test drive which provoked my decision. Its a wonderful car which is a class apart so dont compare it with any other car on the road. The pricing is just perfect, because it is spent on quality and is obvious when you feel and drive the car.

 

Areas of improvement I guess, volkswagen should release more accessories which are not on sale at the moment like the fog lamps, central locking for the base and the middle model. This car rocks! and I assure you will demand attention as you zoom past ;-)
