Maruti Suzuki launches the refreshed Celerio starting from Rs 4.15 lakhs

Maruti Suzuki has revamped their budget hatchback, the Celerio, three years after the car was introduced in 2014. Being a mid-life update, the new Celerio gets the customary nips and tucks on the outside and a few tweaks inside the cabin for a fresher look. 

The front bumper gets a more square air dam with a new design altogether while the horizontally slatted grille has been replaced by a mesh unit. The grille gets a chrome lining on the top giving the Celerio a sportier look. While the car remains the same in profile, the rear bumper has been redesigned as well.

On the inside, the black and beige combination continues with its presence but has been reworked. The seats and the door trims now get more beige instead of the black combine, thus making the cabin look more spacious and premium. The instrument cluster and the centre console with the 2-DIN music system continue along with the air-conditioning unit. 

The Celerio starts at Rs 4.15 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, for the LXi trim. The VXi comes in at Rs 4.48 lakhs with the AMT version costing Rs 4.91 lakhs. The top-spec ZXi Opt. with manual gearbox goes for Rs 5.22 lakhs. While the driver airbag is standard across the range, you can opt for the passenger airbag with every trim for an added Rs 15,000.

The Celerio comes with a 1.0-litre petrol engine that develops 67bhp of power and 90Nm of torque. It comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox that drives the front wheels. You can also opt for the Celerio with a factory fitted CNG kit which is offered only on the VXi trim and is priced at Rs 5.10 lakhs.

The Maruti Celerio competes against the likes of the Tata Tiago and the Datsun GO in the Indian car market along with its sibling, the Maruti Wagon R.
