2019 Maruti Suzuki Ignis - Now in pictures

Maruti Suzuki has recently introduced the 2019 iteration of the Ignis. Primarily, not much has changed with the interior of the car. And, similar is the case with the vehicle's exterior except for very minor changes. These tweaks remain largely identical to the prototype that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Let's take a look at the hatchback that continues to get some premium features.

Elements like the plastic underbody cladding and black alloy wheels have been carried over. The overall design remains the same with the vehicle's same crossover nature with a high shoulder line.

The Nexa blue colour is a signature shade created exclusively for Nexa and continues to be offered without any changes. However, now there are nine exterior body colour options in all.

What's more, the tinsel blue and uptown red colours can be had with a roof in midnight black. In fact, customers opting for the tinsel blue body colour can also get the roof done in artic white. 

As you can clearly see, the car still carries its tall-boy stance. In fact, it now gets new roof rails which accentuate its sporty avatar.

Features like LED projector headlamps, U-shaped LED daytime running lights and a chrome-lined front grille continue to add character to the fascia.

When the Ignis was first unveiled, its cabin design was fresh. The interior was quite different from any of the other Maruti siblings and continues to be so.

Mechanically, there are no changes to the powertrain. The diesel model was discontinued earlier due to the model's low-demand and upcoming BS-VI emission norms.

It is only the 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine on offer that pumps out 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT.

Airbags, ABS and EBD were on offer as standard features earlier too. But, Maruti Suzuki now offers a seatbelt alert system, speed warning system and rear parking sensors as standard across all trims.
