I had a very disappointing experience with the MG Windsor. I bought the car in November, and ever since I started using the AC, it has stopped working twice within just two months. On top of that, there is a constant loud and disturbing noise coming from the front side of the car.

Worth to purchase if going for EV. I am also looking for EV. Good for the city and along the drive too. Looks-wise, it also attracts. willing to test drive before purchase. advice on purchasing from my family members.

On 3rd April 2026, my MG Windsor was severely affected by heavy flooding. While all the other vehicles around mine were unaffected, my car faced significant damage. This immediately raised concerns about the build quality of the MG Windsor, especially considering the growing number of electric vehicles (EVs) on the road. I got in touch with MG Motors, and my vehicle was towed to their Hadapsar service centre on 4th April. However, as of today (25th April), 27 days later, I have still not received a clear update on when the car will be repaired. The lack of communication has been frustrating, and I have been given the following reasons by MG's authorised service centre: Lack of Resources and Infrastructure: MG claims they do not have the necessary facilities to expedite the process, such as a dedicated area for battery storage and proper resources to process approvals quickly. Delays in Approvals: The service team mentioned that they are waiting for approvals from MG’s higher management as well as the insurance company, which are taking an unusually long time. Unacceptable Delays for EV Repairs: Most shockingly, I was told that because my vehicle is an EV, the repair process could take 1–2 months. They mentioned that petrol or diesel vehicles would have been repaired much faster. This is extremely disappointing, especially when the government is pushing to promote EVs. The delays have caused me an extra financial burden. I am forced to spend around ₹500-₹600 per day on auto/cab rides while still paying for my car loan EMI. This is simply not acceptable, and I feel like I’ve been left in the dark for far too long. The lack of proper infrastructure and support for EV owners by the manufacturer is making me regret opting for an electric vehicle in the first place.

1. I bought the MG Windsor Essence Pro 53 KW in October 2025 and have done 5000 km since then. 2. On the positive side, it is a very spacious car with good interiors and feature loaded. 3. However, I don't recommend anyone to buy this car due to the following reasons: (i) Extremely poor suspension system causing jerks even on small rough roads or on a very low height speed breaker. I have driven many cars during the last three decades. Its suspension system is the worst. (ii) The new car's gear shift lever broke down after 5000 km ( within 6 months), which speaks volumes about its poor build quality. (iii) MG Motors' after-sales service is horrible. It took them 7 days to change the part. They don't have spare parts inventory and order most parts, which come from the Gujarat factory. That is why delay is common. (iv) Barring exception, as per the company policy, they don't provide an alternate car during the service period, causing you huge financial loss in hiring the same from the market. (v) Many operations are through the screen. Setting the screen while driving is a big distraction and highly unsafe. (vi) Many Default settings of the car cannot be changed permanently. Each time on starting the car, you have to change the settings as per your requirement.
