Already driven to Ladakh, Spiti Valley, and countless long highway runs. Pros Outstanding Driving Dynamics: Compass feels rock solid at any speed. Its stability on highways and control around corners give a real sense of confidence. Great Handling & Braking: The steering is precise and responsive, and the braking performance inspires total trust, especially during high-speed drives or sudden stops. Comfort & Build Quality: The suspension is tuned beautifully for all types of roads, soaking up bumps while maintaining composure. Inside, the cabin quality and comfort levels are genuinely premium. Performance: The 2.0L Multijet Diesel engine delivers effortless power and torque, making long drives a pleasure. Fuel Efficiency: Despite being a heavy SUV, the mileage figures are impressive, easily in the range of 18-22 kmpl on highways, better than expected for its size and segment. Perfect Dimensions: The Compass strikes the ideal balance, not too big for city driving, yet big enough to command presence on highways. It’s easy to maneuver and park while still offering that SUV stance. Good Delivery Experience: Jeep’s dealership experience during purchase and delivery feels truly premium. The handover process was smooth, professional, and left a lasting positive impression. Cons Higher Upfront & Maintenance Cost: You do pay a premium — both for buying and maintaining it. Limited Service Network: Jeep’s service reach in India is still smaller compared to mainstream brands. Slightly Compact Cabin: Overall space isn’t as generous as some rivals in this price bracket. Missing Features: The lack of cruise control in a car costing around ₹30 lakh is disappointing. Verdict The Jeep Compass Diesel isn’t just a car, it’s an experience. With its tank-like build, unmatched driving confidence, and all-around capability, it stands as one of the most engaging SUVs to drive in India. Peppy Jeep Compass - Owners perspectiveAfter a lot of research zeroed in on Jeep Compass for our frequent self driven inter state drives. The primary drivers for our selection of a car was safety and driving pleasure. With both these parameters in mind, the Jeep fitted the bill very well. I have driven over 35,000 kms in about 15 months. Love the manual as felt better control and driving pleasure. Great acceleration and no vibration even at 140+ speeds. The NVH ( noise, vibration and harshness) are decent though not best in class. Done three services at Kochi - The experience has been extremely satisfactory. The two factors which any prospective buyers need to bear in mind are the turning radius which is large and the clutch is on the heavier side. I have used the car occasionally for our daily commutes. Though not a large SUV by European Standards , comfortably seats four with ample boot space. The AC has been efficient and keeps all within the comfort range. The panoramic sunroof adds a lot of light inside the cabin particularly as the seats and dashboard are dark shades. A suv with the millege more than that of hatch.Buying Jeep compass was my dream and the way jeep India and jeep Bharat motors at odisha is handling it is really breathtaking . Though I had used befre Mahindra XUV 500,Hyundai creta and tata harrier,this road machine is nimble and very fun to drive. The way it performs on a NH it is really thrilling.most people are dissatisfied about the millege,but my compass has a avg of 20.63,(tank to tank)which is really astonishing for today's this size of suv. No loss of power and the driving pleasure So far I hv driven it 10000 kms within 5months and it is really economical to pocket. It's indeed a highway king...the stability and the agility is outstanding.
