I have purchased my swift petrol Vxi model on 19 Aug, 2005. I have driven till date 35,000 Kms. Had both the rear wheel bearings changed twice by the dealer. 4 new tyres were given to me free at 25,000 Kms. front both struts changed twice. Now they say the clutch plate needs replacement.I am planning to sell my car. good engine. I get 14 in city with AC and 16 on high way with AC at speeds touching 110 +.

I need to decide between GM Tavera & Hyundai Verna. Any suggestions.

im getting 19 on city and 22 on highway from my swift VDi. its quite good. better than indica. as its engine is using 5 jet instead of 3 jet in ord. crdi, it gives max. power and mileage.

there s no mileage diff b/w LDi and VDi, as the engine s same. the weight diff. is only 10 kg. it wont affect the mileage

The Swift diesel should drive anywhere between 13-16kmpl depending on a person's driving nature. Crusing on the highways with a steady throttle feed it should return close to 20kmpl.

of course.. swift diesel.. indica is having an outdated engine with a taxi cab image.

logan, going to be marketed by the ppl who marketed palio, one of the best car in world.. wat hapnd to it !!

so be wit maruti swift diesel. new high end technology with fial multiject engine with 5 jets. its turbocharged with turbo cooler. only one european hatch available in india is swift !!

think and decide

Hi Suresh,

The two cars are variants of the Swift diesel, LDi being the lower of the two. With the VDi, you'll get goodies like power windows, central locking etc. Mechanically, they are the same.

Hi,

Mileage mainly depends on the way of driving on a person. Considering that you'll drive with a moderate throttle feed, the Swift diesel should give you between 14-15kmpl.

Cheers!

Dear Ram,

The Swift and Logan are very different cars. Swift is a hatch while logan is a very spacious sedan. The performance of the Swift in both the petrol and the diesel guise is better than the corresponding Logan. But the Swift lacks big time in space and comfort which the Logan offers aplenty. It basically boils down to your requirements. Let us have more from your side and we shall be in a better position to guide you towards a good option.

nothing to worry.swift diesel is a very nice car.itz 1st time that maruti had launched completely new diesel technology thats unlike anything you have ever experienced before.it has DDiS engine  the best diesel engine in the world.its 1.3 litre ,16 vavle engine is highly fuel efficient. with minimum noise nd no vibrations. and lastly it have 75 bhp power which is awsome to drive.

it will give you approx 13.4 kmpl with ac on in city and arround 18.3 on highway . nd approx 14.6 kmpl without ac in city and around 19.6 on highway without ac.
