Fiat Punto Evo User Reviews

I am writing this review after three years or 46500 km driving experience. I had faced the following issues with punto evo.

Within 2 weeks from the date of purchase there was leakage of steering oil. And they charged me for changing the clips tightening the tube.

In 2015 my car met with a small accident and they have changed the front bumper and radiator even though it was in good condition. And after changing the radiator they failed to check the coolant oil level. When reported again they charged me for the same.

All four tyres of my car went out of shape in 26000 kms, when contacted JK tyres they inspected and said it happened due to negligence of wheel alignment and balancing. But whenever i give my vehicle for service in fiat showroom they do charge 900 or 1000 for alignment (i.e at 5000 km and 15000 km). When approached fiat showroom, they said that the life of a tyre is only 25000 km.

In the year 2017, the front power window glass came out of window frame while i was driving. Due to which i met with an accident and there a dent was formed due to impact. When reporting the same, they fixed the window at free of cost and when asked about the dent, they said that they are not responsible for the accident and i should have driven my vehicle carefully by holding the glass in one hand.

In 2018, the dummy fog lamp cover found missing while i was driving and i have fixed the same by paying 1500.

In january 2018, the display in my dashboard alarmed EBD system failure. When reported this issue to the showroom, the service adviser checked my battery life and said that the battery is weak, that is why it is displaying EDB or ABS system failure. And he charged me Rs 300 and i refused to pay the same. I said why should my car say EDB or ABS failure when the battery is week. I took my vehicle to showroom since the issue was big and my car was under warranty.

And now, the coolant oil drained out completely. When inspected this issue with the help of local mechanic, they found that there was a leakage in tube connecting to the engine (In the back side). I have given my vehicle to authorized fiat service station for past three years and faced all these issues.  Now i am paying huge-sum due to there negligence and defective fitting.

This time there is no warning alarm. No indication of temperature etc etc.

For the past three years i have spent 1,50000 plus for running this vehicle successfully on road.

i am using fiat Punto 1.3 since 5 years,its wonderful pickup, mileage and comfort worthy for having fiat punto car, only one thing is lack of spare parts and service centres in Hyderabad

It's a fantastic car. Indians don't know how to buy cars.. this car is amazing. Safety is the best. Strong car it is. Had owned the previous version. It's a very stable car. very confidence-inspiring. The steering wheel could have been better placed. Comfortable car. But a strong build. Design is a subjective matter. This brand is more reliable than any other. Go for it.

Exterior

 heavy tapping noise on both fanders because of no support and clliping as told by service center in gurgaon.. low quality of metal used on bottom of front door which presses easily as compared to old model. 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

very good design of enteriors and boot space is also great...but back seat really su....k...not comfortable for long drive..

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 nice pick up as well as fuel economy. gear shift is very smooth...During our drive we did manage to go as fast as we can in the car and although it has good poise at  high speeds, the car feels best at cruising speeds of 100 to 110 kmph. In city driving where we tend to drive the car mostly in second and third gear, the turbo lag is evident, more so in third gear, but once past the 1900 mark it is pretty manageable and the power delivery is not so spiky as compared to the new Polo or even the Swift. However, the Polo has got a powerful engine and will definitely set the new benchmark for top speed and acceleration, the second best car that feels as sprightly as the Polo is the Swift. The Punto Evo 75bhp variant feels the least enthusiastic and don’t be surprised if it sits at the bottom of the table in this department.

 

 

Ride Quality & Handling

 handling is superb but breaking system is of low side because of low tyres.

Areas of improvement  

 body line must be solid as of old punto model and fanders noice should be resolved as soon as possible.

 

great handling,,nice design, good pick up, less noise in cabin of engine.both the fander gives tapping noise..and low quality of body.

Buying experience was very smooth and Driving experience is very good and very smooth gear shifting. looks wise a vey decent compact family car and servicing and maintenance are very less compared to other brands of cars in the same segment

worthless, don't ever go for fiat, mine is 9 years old car but it has just run 40000 kms, and each year I spend around Rs 50000 to keep it running, clutch problems, gear box problems, cylinder problems - Can you imagine that it has run for just 40000 kms , and its showing engine problems.

Excellent car for a small family and for individuals who wish to explore. The power of Fiat engine is always awesome. Looks like a cute beast. Not much to invest in servicing and easy to maintain. When you ride alone you'll feel the heart beat is synced with the beat of this beast engine. Cons----still trying to find one, when i get to see I'll post again.

Couple of years back when I was planning to buy a car, took test drive of few cars like Ford Aspire, Hyundai I10..I finalized Ford aspire, that was good in all aspects but somehow I visited a fiat dealership and took test drive of Punto evo diesel...it was equal to all aspects of Ford aspire but car handling and interior was impressive..main part was price..I got huge discount and I did not compromise to any parameter which I wished. Interesting part was that when I drove car few hundred kms I realized why every oldies who bought Fiat, loves too much his car, that was not my first car but I still like it..only fiat owner can understand. I had never any complaints, every car need a timely service so this got too, service part is costly but driving and build quality is amazing. It's very safe and fiat engine is above of all...when you drive it you know it.

Nice car for the smooth metro drive. Zero maintenance and still going strong for the seventh year running. Fiat is remarkable and the erstwhile premier Padmini feels upgraded and reborn in this evo pure.
