Exterior Hottest looking hatchback currently in the market. VW polo gt used to be but not anymore! Sexy colour combination. I have the black one which looks great! And the scorpion alloy wheels with all four disc brake is win win!!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) All black not much different from punto evo but with red and yellow stitchings on the seats it gets amazing sporty feel. Rear seat leg room is less but not much and seats are good in comfort.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I need not say anything here about the engine! The 145bhp beast is very quick. Some people say the gearbox is not good and gives you a rubbery feel but honestly I didn't find any problem with it, its precise. Fuel economy is something you won't get though i got around 8-9kmpl after driving without paying attention to economy.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is top notch!! Handling is nice even with so much of power it is always in control! And when you push the throttle real hard it does give a torque steer so you need to hold on to the steering firmly. Well maybe cause its not just for steering its of holding on :P

Final Words FINALLY I must say this is the hottest hatchback you can get in india in sub 10lac price. I am very happy with this car. It is the car for all the car enthusiasts.

Areas of improvement No breathtaking exhaust sound it should have been there.

Superb torque. Superb highspeed stability on Highway. This one is revolutionary car in IndiaNo sporty exhaust note... And no electrically foldable side mirrors.

      Exterior :

Stunning looks with the abarth badgings, scorpion alloys and the red stickering gives the car a sporty look.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort):

Black interiors is refreshing. Decent Music system with good audibility. Provided with leather wrapped steering wheel and  gear lever. Seats are made like in a sports  car with excellent thigh and back support. Driver seat is  height adjustable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox:

Abarth has transformed the engine and suspension into a real performer in terms of pick and power . The bigger turbo adds punch to the driving dynamics of the car and is indeed a delight to drive in both city and highways. No need of frequent gear shifts. On soft pedalling 18 to 20 kms/ltre and in city 12 to 14 is not at all a difficult proposition. Gear shifts gives " a knife through butter feel". Along with the soft clutch, driving this monster of a machine is  surely a treat. The more you drive this beauty the more you fall in love with it. Plastics used are of better quality and has no room for complaints.

      Ride Quality & Handling :

The stiffer suspension does not throw you around , but instead the ride is way ahead of the competition. FIATs are well known for their ride and handling and this car is no exception. High speed stability has always been fiat's strong hold .  The car does not shake or shiver at the upper limits of three digit speeds. Steering is precise and sharp with instant response at high speeds. It glides over rough roads , pot holes and bumps with nil or little fuss. No shocks or shudders filter through the under carriage into the cabin. This car's ride and handling puts to shame bigger and more expensive sedans a few segments above. Going into turns at high speeds is not a problem at all and the brakes are excellent with ABS and ABD.

      Final Words :

This car is not only meant for performance heads but also can be used as an excellent family car with extremely good driving dynamics. FIAT has done a wonderful job. The car is  VFM because for such kind of performance one will have to spend a few tens of lakhs more.

Areas of improvement:  FIAT could have provided good quality floor mats and reverse sensors.

Good Power, stunning looks, smooth, silent engineNo reverse sensors, floor mats provided does not match the interiors

Exterior The Italian design is superb and head-turning. The headmaps are eye-catching. The red stripes look good on black colour but on the white they seem to be gaudy and loud.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space and comfort are excellent. Sound system is excellent in clarity. The feel is big-car like and confidence raising on the highway. The safety features like SRS airbags, black ambience etc. upto the mark.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The real master of the show in this car is its powerful engine. It is really hot performer. There is no coarseness at any speed. It can compete with any three box car of 25 lac value. The engine has been made for real enthusiasts. Naturally that 145 bhp elephant will ask for more fuel. The ARAI fuel economy is 16.3 kmpl but in the real world situation it is absurd. If you are too much concerned with fuel economy, don't look at this car. This type of performer cannot be considered on this ground.

Ride Quality & Handling Praise... praise... praise. Nothing else. I drove this car on Pune-Mumbai expressway at 170 kmph. Even at that pace the speed is not perceived. The rock-solid stablility of this car is highly commendable. The old-school hydraulic steering is really made by God. It gives you excellently perfect feedback. People have complained about the gearbox but there is no problem. One can live with it. In the course of time and operation it gets improved. Everything depends on our attitude. Even the 'one crorewala cars' are not perfect. FIAT has provided disc brakes ok all fours with a good reason. The controlling is top-notch.

Final Words This is a driver's car. We cannot expect much in the amount we pay for it. It is a real value for money car. You cannot enjoy driving this car on all Indian roads but on open highways it is a fun in driving and result in smile on your face.

Areas of improvement Gear-box, clutch, ORVM.

The engine performance, space, interior, 16 inch alloy wheels, ride and handling, sturdiness, some ergonomic issues, fuel economy

Abarth Punto is the definition of Raw power. It very well fits and exceeds the description of hot hatch in India. The contenders in the segment don't come any close to it, as far as performance goes. Although it's based on the old Punto, it gets all four disc brakes in a hatchback (wow!) resulting in superior braking performance. The scorpion on the hood and red & white/black contrasts boasts it's rare breed of hot hatch. It's love at first sight. Service in Kolkata region has improved a lot ever since Celica (Jeep) has stepped in to service Fiat vehicles. Few more driving aids like ESP, ASR and TC would make it an ideal purchase, together with better availability of the vehicle in the showrooms. But with promising performance and roadworthiness, it certainly deserves the Abarth badge.

I try to reach out for getting an Abarth but unfortunately, the dealers are not available. If I get a new Abarth with BS6 I will surely buy it whatever the cost is. Only thing I need is the T jet with 145bhp and the graphics with scorpion which covers the entire features of the old Abarth. Hope the Italian makers will never throw away the request.

Abarth punto was one of my dream hatchback cars. But due to lack of sales numbers, the production has been stopped. I'm sure that every petrol heads will really miss this car and its performance including me. A few months before I got a chance to drive the car, it's not just a car. It's a performance package machine. Italian automotive engineering is mind-blowing because the car gives that much energy and confidence from the moment when we grab the circle and started the spinning. I really wish for a facelift model of Abarth punto in the future time.

The most powerful hatchback in India! Well, that's kinda true by numbers but for someone who drove a swift 1.3 turbo diesel engine, didn't quite feel much of difference. The turbo kicks in at 2k RPM brings the same grin on your face, but the good part is I need not change gear from 2nd to 3rd immediately like in diesel, this goes a long way so double grin. The car is heavy so it's planted, the power to weight ratio is the spoilsport .it scrapes on big humps. It's very sturdy for a car.
