The cushion is held in place using elastic straps that wrap around the seat and fasten under the headrest.
Real-World Usability
We have been using the cushion for over two weeks now, across regular commutes and a few longer drives, and it does help take the edge off the discomfort that builds up on hotter days. It’s important to understand that these aren’t cooled seats. What you get is ventilation, not active cooling.
The airflow is consistent and enough to keep your back from getting clammy over time. You can hear the fans when the speed is turned up, but the sound stays in the background and never becomes distracting. In terms of effectiveness, the seat base feels better ventilated than the backrest, which is interesting considering that the base supports more body weight. The cushion material itself feels soft and supportive, even over longer durations. The cable length is just about sufficient for front seats, though if you’re planning to use it for the rear, a cable extension might be necessary.
Should you buy it?
At Rs. 6,980 per unit, the Airmag ventilated cushion isn’t exactly cheap. But what you are paying for here is a more purpose-built solution with a fairly clean design and decent execution. It does what it promises. It offers ventilation to make drives more bearable in warm conditions and does so without major compromises. The build quality feels reliable, installation is simple, and it integrates into most cars without fuss. Just don’t expect chilled air or factory-level fit and finish, and you won’t be disappointed. If you spend long hours in traffic or live in a region where summer overstays its welcome, this might be a small but worthwhile upgrade to your daily comfort.
