I sold by Zen' 2002 model & purchased Tavera somewhere Jan 2008. I purchased middle row as bucket (Captain) seats.

I truly enjoy driving this vehical on any road. This is slow (less pickup), safe & comfortable vehical for City as well as outstation / rough road driving.

I use this vehical in Pune city's crowded road & to best of  my surprise I am enjoying driving in  heavy crowd of 2 wheels, autorikshaws, PMT buses as they wait for me to cross. (normally this situation is not there in Pune for small car).

This a fuel efficiant Diesel vehical which is truly comfortable for long distance driving too.

I am truly enjoying this vehical in city area, as no pickup is required in city driving, due to height of the vehical problems of 2 & 3 wheels is not there, and most important very easy for parking due to power steering (unexpected !!!)

On the other hand I will recommend this vehical as safe family car for city area too, looking to these advantages.

Simple safe vehical, good average, good stability.Vibrations, poor luggage space.

The authorised service centr in Gurgaon (Apex Motors) is a horrendous place to be stuck with! I love my TAVERA and am perfectly satisfied with all its performance parameters. It certainly isn't the 'hottest' thing on the road, but Tavera is a fine workhorse for family rides. However I can say with absolute conviction, that if I had known about the shoddy worksmanship, questionable job-ethics, lack of accountability and total diregard to the concept of customer care; (not to mention  their sheer 'customer-fleecing quotient') - shown consistently by the shop-crew and managerial staff at the sole 'authorised GM service centre' in Gurgaon, I would never have decided to go in for the Tavera (howsoever much had I wanted to!). Dealing with the constant excuses and inefficient work-culture at Apex has been nothiong short of a Nightmare for me!

I own a 2007 LS model Tavera.Till now it is not given any major problems and my driver also happy ,before he was driving a Qualis.we can drive this vehicle at any terrain even hills also.

Good

1) Good mileage. I am guarantee it will give minimum 14 in city and 18 in free ways.

2)Sleek body will give you feel like a Zen.

3) Good pick up.

Bad.

1) Leafspring

2) Engine noice

3) dash is not neat

4)Over priced.SS models are over priced.

 

Note: Innovo is a good car with a huge body.It is superb in highways but how do you expect you drive only in highways and it is over priced because of INR and Yen problems.It is worth when we gets each model of Innova a lack less.Why people are not going behind a tavera because people fearing  GM.They stopped opel vehcles suddenly that makes fear for normal customers.There is no much ad for Tavera compares to other vehicle.If you beleive in our Amby engine you must believe Tavera engine also.And no webs are supporting GM vehicles.Why?You just think.Safari Dicor engine is superb but no web will give it is good and even for a simple copare also they won't give safari.Why?Because all people are looking only money.Ther is a human tendency that they see money more they will bend to that side.

Conclusion: The only vehicle in India good for taxi or a cab is Tavera.(If U want profit).Personnely I am not recommanding Tavera's luxury version because I feel it is highly priced i that case you can think Safari or Innova.And I heared that Xylo also nice.Ask doubt to a reliable person and don't beleive all web.Cheers.

Tavera car is useful for long drive and for family and big space Really car is awesome And likely is car are awesome fantastic and really useful car So I suggested you buy this car and purchase are very useful car

Hi all!
It has been 2 months since I own this Tavera ssd1-7 seater.
The layout is good and looks better than the 8 seater. The 7-seater has 4 pushback seats and these seats have adjustable Lumbar supports. Can drive for any long hours and u wont feel tired!!!
Mileage is good. I get an average of 10+ with AC in the city (CHENNAI) and 15 (14-15) with AC on highways.
The triple row AC is good and the space inside is sufficient for 9 (though its a 7 seater)
The worst part that spoils the whole show is the suspension.
The engine is powerfull enuf to drag the vehicle to above 110kmph but the suspension is not. It has leaf springs and transmits the entire profile of the road to the passengers.
This makes it not good for owning. Hope Chevy makes some changes on this part.Innova seems to be better in this (suspension) aspect. But the last row leg-room (thighs do not rest) suffers in Innova.
The speakers provided (OEM Kenwood) sounds very good. Replaced the Head unit with JVC dvd/usb and its a need for MUV.
Everything is fine till date except for the suspension which is expected to be better over time (as dealers suggest)

I got it for 125000 by taking a loan in the bank. I bought it for commercial use. When it comes to driving experience it's a RWD and it's pretty smooth to drive . It looks familiar with Tata safari and it gives a rugged look. On an average we can have a expenses upto 5-10k per month for commercial use and 2-5k for personal use. Pros Ample space is available Good leg space Very high pickup can carry heavy weights Comfortable journey for a big family Cons Engine is bit noisy when we revv it . Can have better features like led display on the dashboard and seat belt alerts which are easily available in this price range.

A very good car for rough use and long trip purpose in that budget. 85000km travelled but still looks very nice and performance is very nice now. There are cons like safety features are nil. The middle seat is little uncomfortable as it bounces but all an all a powerful performance in drive and good response.

My car is very comfortable but on highways we feel that we are helpless at 90 KM/HR. bad pickup. interiors specially ceiling is very bad like a TAXI. Please suggest me some thing to improve both. chevrolet people can you help me in this regard.

It can into our family as a used car which is done over 100000kms. it is basic in terms of design and features, but it fulfills it's basic purpose. to take persons from A to B in comfort. Even after running 190000kms, it still feels comfortable on long distances and can haul up to 9 in total comfort. the engine feels underpowered sometimes, but on highway it just floats, especially with full load. Service is a bit hard experience as Chevrolet discontinued their brand in India. Some parts are not easily available, that's the only issue we faced with this car. the pros about this car is: 1)It feels safe behind the wheel, it is very predictable. 2) It can haul a large family and their luggage in total comfort. therefore, fit for purpose is given 10/10. 3)it is spacious inside and the AC is very powerful and cools the cabin in no time. 4) It is very fuel efficient, it is more than our expectation, usually we get between 16-20 kmpl. the cons are: 1) It feels very basic in terms of features, it misses out on rear AC vents, internally adjustable mirrors, rear defogger etc. which makes it very convenient. but these features are available in higher variants. 2)Sometimes it feels very hard to maneuver it in the city and the clutch is on heavier side. Just keeping the service and aftersales in mind, I can say that it is a good purchase as it can fulfill the basic need of an MPV. Just do the the regular service and it just runs without creating any worries.
